First off we would like to thank our community. Without you and the endless support over the past few years. Two developers across the world from each other, brought together during covid, would never have been able to accomplish what we have. Your testing, reports, and support really have turned Carth into something we can be proud of. Lastly, thank you to our families, kids, spouses, and friends for the love and support as we chased forward with the crazy idea of two people creating something like this.
Now, who is excited for Carth Release!!
We have worked hard to get Carth to this state and are really excited for the future of the game and continuing to mold Carth into a fantastic experience for players. We have a lot of work ahead of use and some great things still planned for Carth! Please feel free to join the Discord and really help be apart of our amazing community. We are active, and interacting all the time.
We have had many questions the past few weeks about the state of the game, and understand before a purchase airing out some concerns is necessary and why not just place it on front of the steam page.
Question: Is multiplayer available in Early Access?
Answer: YES! Multiplayer is available and working well. There are a few issues that are known and we are working hard to fix ASAP. At start of game all known issues are listed and we post updates to the game regularly and will continue upon release. A few known multiplayer bugs and issues
~Horses: Across the network maybe some issues.
~Boats: Clients unable to control/ helm a boat.
~Connection issues: Unable to connect to server. There maybe some connection issues as with any multiplayer game. Try restarting Carth and join again. Make sure host and client have capable internet connection.
~Can not rejoin server with character: If a client leaves game server. The Host must restart server for that client to have their character again. We are working on a fix, but for now this is a limitation.
~Can not see this or this did not work across network. Please let us know any bugs you encounter. We have a discord bug reporting forum that is checked by our testing team and we are fixing as fast as we can. Feel free to use steam, but we have something else we prefer.
Question: Is there dedicated server support?
Answer: Not yet. Our networking solution does support it, but we want to push forward last remaining features and polishing before ourselves offering that support. It is planned through Early Access and yes.. we agree.. Carth will be a great game for that.
Question: Are Mods supported?
Answer: Similar to dedicated server.. Not yet. We plan to, and will offer what we can throughout Early Access.
Question: How long will Early Access be?
Answer: Over a year. Only time will tell, and we want to really make Carth great. We will plan out development while fixing bugs, and working with the community going forward.
In closing, we are very exited and thankful for everything. We hope you will enjoy Carth and please reach out with issues or concerns so things that are not correct can be addressed.
Warm Regards
