We're going to try a new streaming schedule to make our Fridays less hectic. We're planning on doing a brief State of the Game stream Wednesday afternoon, and then move our usual developer play sessions later on Fridays, shootin' for 8pm.
We've changed the gun belt up a bit to make it more usable. Now the belt snaps to your hands to help get to the things you're trying to grab, and no-look grabbing has been vastly improved. We're still working on improvements here, so test it out and leave feedback in the Discord.
We've noticed some accidental double tapping with Oculus controllers, so we've added a system to combat that behavior. Unfortunately, immediately after updating the live build, we got reports that some users are still experiencing this problem, so if you can reliably reproduce this, reach out to us on Discord and let us know your experience, we obviously need to dig deeper.
We've started adding classifier practice courses to the game. These are modeled off of real world courses used to group real world shooters into classes so they can compete against similarly skilled shooters. We are planning on adding as many of these as we can, and also setting up the full ruleset so shooters can practice and learn the stages, without the cost of ammo, of course.
Practicing these courses requires some tools though, so we've added a shot timer to them. Like a real world belt mounted timer, ours will give you a "shooter ready? ...standby ...beep" count, and then show you shot times and splits. We hope this will make these practice stages usable to shooters who are interested in competing and can compliment (not replace) dry fire practice while we all patiently wait for ammo availability. For now, you'll have to walk the course and call your own hits and misses, but we'll be adding those rules and scoring in the coming weeks.
Now the stinky part. The backend for our new tournament system is taking longer than we'd like, but we need to get it right in order for tournaments to function properly. This means the tournament events will be delayed until (likely) the end of May. We're sorry for the delay, but we want a good, reliable backend, especially to prevent any kind of janky tournament features. We'll get it right ...standby.
Thanks,
12 Gauge Savior
