We had to delay our build last week by a couple days, but the update rolled out this Monday and brings the new render pipeline to the game. A couple things might look a little different, the Shoothouse for example, but we're still working on it. This pipeline brings some minor performance improvements and a new graphics setting, allowing you to toggle SSAO on or off.
We added an experimental setting allowing users to customize their Interpupillary distance (IPD) setting. If your optic doesn't seem to be lined up where it should be, give this a tweak. We are trying to set everyone's IPD automatically, so you should only mess with this if you're seeing noticeably wonky optic alignment.
Speaking of optics, we've added some flip-up iron sights as the "no optic" option on the Rifle. It was a little weird having a naked rifle as an option. We're unsure how useable these will be because of resolution being a challenge in general on most headsets, we'd really appreciate some feedback on what shooters think. Head on over to our Discord to let us know what you think.
On the UI side of things, we fixed attachment icons not displaying properly on the loadout screen. Not really sure how or when this broke, but hey, it's fixed. We also unified the player menu course list, loadout screen, and the tournament screen into one cohesive UI. This will be a nice feature when you participate in a tournament, allowing you to change your loadout based on which course you are about to attempt.
And on the topic of Tournaments, a placeholder UI has been added for tournaments in the latest build, but we're still iterating on it internally over the next couple days, in a effort to get it polished up for launching this feature in the next build. This tournament will feature 3 courses, one of which is brand new, in a brand new environment. This course will not be available to play until you participate in the tournament. Shooters can of course walk the course before you do your run, but you will not have an opportunity to do scored practice runs.
When the new build rolls out, look for the High Country Hootenanny tournament. Tournaments are a custom leaderboard where you only get one chance to log a score, similar to our Friday night Developer Streams we've done over on our Twitch and Youtube channels. You only get one chance so make Every. Shot. Count!
Thanks,
