Dear tinkerers,
this update we have the full spectrum for you: Character reworks, several new modules and an all-new module type with the Generator Upgraders. This will change the dynamics on your racks quite a bit.
As usual, thank you to everybody who is playing Rogue Voltage in Early Access.
Special thanks to the lovely Discord Community which constantly gives great feedback, posts fresh ideas, helps brainstorming for new content and reports bugs. Everybody is invited to join. Come nerd out with us!
Rogue Voltage is still 15% off during Steam Summer Sale. Tell your friends!
CHARACTER REWORKS:
- Plasma Mech was in a weird spot between under- and overpowered (depending who you asked).
I removed the Austerity Cells from its starting loadout (they still drop as loot) and replaced them with the all-new Plasma Combustion Sensor. This should finally encourage you to burn that plasma!
- Asha is certainly among the most difficult characters to play. I personally like her a lot for her combo-kills.
She now has an all-new Accelerating Screen. Less time between all combatant's turns means more overlap to slice the enemies!
NEW GENERATOR UPGRADERS:
I've been analyzing what you folks are picking for loot, and the result is clear: You love to use upgrader modules to enhance your stuff.
I do too, so I'm bringing you even more ways to upgrade.
These 3 new modules put a +1 Upgrade onto a generator, but also apply them with a debuff.
- Generator Upgrader: Storm is a nice Nomad enabler.
- Generator Upgrader: Grav. Recoil is great for self-deceleration strategies (here's lookin' at you, Jess)
- Generator Upgrader: Hazardous is tricky. Don't get too greedy!
MORE NEW MODULES:
- Proximity Cell is a new Asha Enabler
- Explosive Generator is a powerful new generator with a bomb drawback (... or more material for the trash compactor -_- )
- Crust Generator is a much needed new Alice Enabler
CAMP:
- [Rework] Time Capsule is the new identity of what previously was the Refinery.
- [New] Refinery sells you all the gear to upgrade your modules. Upgraders are removed from the rare shop.
MODULE CHANGES:
- [Nerf] Amplifier Factory now produces Amplifiers on Cooldown, similar to the nerf of the Storage Cell Factory
- [Buff] Vulnerability Grenade (available from camp shop) now only targets enemies. Go buy them, they are strong!
- Durability Enhancer is back in uncommon (from rare)
- Cooldown Redirector and Shock Absorber are now in common (from uncommon)
- Removed Stormseeker Generator (replaced with Generator Upgrader: Storm)
- Removed Hazardous Generator (replaced with Generator Upgrader: Hazardous)
UI:
- Durability and Capacity Enhancer are now blue (from green) to differentiate to the other upgrader modules
- "Select next module to fire" ("Firing Conflict") UI is now blue (from green) to differentiate from module targeting prompt
BUGFIXES:
- Fixed controller support. This is an ongoing process, please let me know if there are quirks left.
- Fixed a bug where toggled modules were not targetable when clicking on the toggle
- Fixed a visual bug with more than 1 lock icons on a module
- Fixed a bug where sensors would trigger while in the trash bin
- Fixed a bug with Overload Generator not locking
- Fixed a bug with selling modules that you bought on discount
KNOWN BUGS (that I still couldn't fix this update):
- Sometimes the collider of a collector module gets deactivated so you can't click it to wire. Move the module to make it work again.
- Saving in camp rerolls jack colors in shop.
- Sometimes a module's tooltip doesn't disappear normally
- Storage inductor sometimes put energy only after the regeneration cell already fired
- The game crashes when exiting after a longer playsession
- Steam Achievements are still a bit messy
Enjoy wiring up the new version, let me know what you think in the comments, over in the Steam Community Forums or the game's Discord.
If you're having fun with Rogue Voltage, please leave a Steam review, this helps us a lot!!
Thank you for playing!
Much love from summery Berlin,
Luca
