Thank you jesperds for pointing out that the current prestige and gang heat system needed some re-balance and rework. ːdw_yesː
I think that everything is better now, but it's still a work in progress.
So, what changed:
- Prestige
Old: 1 prestige = $1000
New: 1 prestige = $10 000
Enemy calculations
Old:
lets say if you had a prestige level of 10 (so old $10 000) it would either give you a random number of enemys between 4 to 6 or see how many you have and add +1 to it.
This sucked, because you could have 8 thugs at a low level and the system could give you 9 at random or 3 some other time.
New: Fixed amount of enemies till prestige level 50.
The enemies increase every 10 levels. So at prestige 0 you get 1-3, at prestige 1 to 9 you get 1-3 or 4-6 at random. So having 7 should be enough. Now 1 apartment = 6 prestige, more to that later.
Above 50 you can get a number or your units +1 or a fixed amount at random. This is to balance late game of course, since otherwise you can just get 50 thugs and win every time. There would be no challenge and no punishment for reaching high gang heat. But even then, its only 1 more thug and since the system is random, you have a good chance to win anyway.
Hideout:
Old: Max 6 employees
New: Max 10(12 with dlc)
You now start with 0(old 2), but can get a total of 10 instead of 8 in early game. This is an overall increase, with or without dlc. And with 10 you should be good enough to make enough money fast for an apartment.
Appartments:
Old: 3 employees, 2 max storage room
New: 6 employees, no storage room
Since I am going with a bit of realism in the game I can't just add this as an upgrade. An apartment has a fixed size, you can't just drag the walls like in sims 4 to increase the space. 6 people working in an apartment is the max i think. As a drug lord you don't want to have more than that in 1 apartment, since you can get busted, so you spread out. That's the logic behind it.
So, you will have a ton more available employees now. You can then find a balance between hiring thugs and dealers.
Warehouse:
Old: +10 per building - start with 2 max
New: +12 per building - starting with 4 max
Since apartments and labs don't give storage room now, warehouses now do more. I think warehouses were kind of pointless before, since apartments and labs gave you enough storage to not care about them.
Labs: - no storage, no employee increase, only max chemist increase
So now each building is important and does it's own thing.
Dealers:
below 50 prestige they generate at random 1-14 heat
above 50 they generate at random 1-30 heat
By that point you have enough upgrades, lawyers and thugs that 1-14 is so little that the whole heat system becomes pointless. Hope this is not too much heat now but we will see.
Updated the building menu background since it was still the old one.
"Improved" some of the building menu code from ~5k lines to 1500. I don't know what I was smoking when I wrote that code lol.
