Hey Vidya Poker players!
coolnames here! I missed you guys too! Here is what included in the 4.0 update:
Solid and Gradient Color Backgrounds!
In the Pause Menu, you can now change from the outer-space background to either a solid color or 2 color gradient background! This can make playing have a more stylized look, utilizing some of your favorite colors. Slight performance increase as well!
Players Can Choose To Fly Through Space!
After popular request, I implemented a toggle button for 'Moving' through the default outer-space background. While I prefer the visuals of moving, it is now the player's choice! Toggle it in the Pause Menu when playing!
DEUCES WILD VIDYA POKER
I decided to challenge myself and dev a new poker gametype:
Deuces Wild! How does it work?
EASY!
- Any 2 (deuce) is wild! This means, it can represent any other card in the deck. 2s will glow with a rainbow effect!
- With wild cards, a 5 of a Kind hand is possible!
- Because good hands are easier to earn, payouts are reduced for lower tier scores.
- Three new unique hands can be earned in Deuces Wild mode.
- Earning a score that includes Aces will still earn Diamonds, just like the other poker modes!
- Auto-play is also operational in Deuces Wild!
Also, 9 new achievements for Deuces Wild hands have been added!
Optimizations
Of course, as I delve back into the project, I continually find more efficient ways to do logic. It might be placebo effect (since I haven't used any FPS analysis), but the game feels smoother to me!

- OPTIONS ➡ Pause Menu ➡ Buttons and controls added to customize colors for new background modes.
- OPTIONS ➡ 'Streamer Mode' toggle buttons have been removed from the game.
SOUND:
- SFX ➡ New unique announcer sound cues for 'Wild Royal Flush' and '5 of a Kind'
VISUALS:
- Special card faces for deuces are shown when using certain card sets while playing Deuces Wild.
OPTIMIZATIONS:
- All 3D text in the game has been replaced with static meshes to improve performance
BUG FIXES:
- FIXED ➡ If playing too fast, announcer would report the score of the next dealt hand, if was a winning score on first deal.
