We want to share how your voices have shaped DEVI: A Light in the Dark —a reimagined narrative mystery born from the heart of MISSING.
Why DEVI?
The shift to Devi—a 15-year-old detective in rural India—stems from our mission to 'balance social impact with engaging gameplay'. While Champa’s story remains foundational, we realized that Devi’s perspective could:
- Amplify Player Agency: Solve mysteries through clue-driven detective work, stealth, and morally complex choices.
- Broaden Reach: Highlight systemic issues (caste divides, trafficking) through a relatable, empowering lens.
- Preserve Authenticity: Explore rural India’s vibrant villages, where societal rot hides beneath tradition.
We believe, if you play the demo you will feel. this isn’t a departure from MISSING’s mission—it’s an evolution to ensure the game resonates deeply while driving change.
What’s New?
Rewritten Story: New characters, locations, and branching narratives.
Innovative Mechanics: Analyze conversations, detect lies, and unlock hidden dialogues to progress.
Cultural Depth: Authentic settings rarely seen in games, paired with voice acting and 3D environments.
Showcase at Comic Con India: As we speak, Devi is featured in Comic Con India coupled with a festival on Steam.
