Greetings, Principal!
Previously we’ve talked a lot about features and game mechanics, but this time we’ll be talking more about the world of Valthiria itself.
Taking place hundreds of years after the prequel in the northern parts of Valthiria, the nation have advanced to a whole new era. What once was a peaceful nation under one Queendom is now divided into 4 areas and factions, all because of the ancient powerful dragon, Fellwing. The Queendom may have persevered and slain the dragon, but not without sacrifice. The people discovered they have different hopes and dreams to rebuild their country and so, the four factions were formed.
Each faction has their own culture, proficiency affinity, and beliefs. Imagine it like the nations in Avatar : The Last Airbender if you will. Novoresk is the military-oriented domain which tries to protect the nation from northern dangers. Chernov is a scholarly domain, focusing more on researching the advancements of magic and bond with other factions. Perkuna is the most technologically advanced faction, creating various arc-devices for their people. Last but not least, there’s the Mokosil tribe, a mysterious self-sufficient faction focusing more on the divine proficiency.

‘Coincidentally’ your academy is right in the middle of these 4 factions, thus receiving students from all other areas while remaining under no one’s particular rule. Every student deserves a chance to be a hero for their nation, no matter where they came from. As the nation progress, so did the people and its enemies. Monsters evolved to have their own proficiencies, abilities to manipulate their body, nature or energy. These are more commonly known as the following four proficiencies; physical, magic, divine, and arcworks.
Arcworks being the latest addition in the Valthirian Arc series. Technology escapes no one, even in the world of heroes. Long ago, Valthiria discovered a new element called the Arc Stone. Possessing an enormous amount of power and energy, these stone are now used to power up man-made machines called arc-devices. Arc-devices are used by everyone, extensively so by Arcsmiths who rely on arc-weapons in battle. These devices are so common that your academy has an Arc Tower holding up a massive arc-stone to power up all your students arc-devices.

As you progress through your academy, you’ll get to know all your students and faculty members. Getting involved in their stories, and discover issues not only in each area, but also a common threat, tipping the fragile balance of Valthiria. Of course, we’re not going to reveal to you what that threat is. You’ll just have to buy the game and experience the story for yourself!
Hope this helps you have a better understanding of Valthiria. If you’re still curious for more, check out our dev diary video series on Youtube.
