To celebrate Steam Capitalism and Economy Fest 2024, we're launching Update 14.0 - License to Sell with some all-new content that'll challenge both your shopkeeping and combat skills at the same time.
As always, thank you for leaving feedback on the Steam forums and https://discord.gg/Saleblazers. We hope you'll all have a great start to a new year!
New Desert Shop Plot

In this patch, we've added a Decommissioned Shop Plot in the Desert to the northeast of the Canyon. All throughout the day, waves of cultists relentlessly attack any unfortunate soul who happens to be in the area.
In addition, if you drop to 0 stars you'll lose everything within the plot bounds. It's all or nothing in the desert!
Desert Shop Plot Questline

The government needs your help in revitalizing the desert and protecting the desert shop plot's customers from roving bands of cultists.
Take on the challenge and build a 5-star shop from nothing while surviving against waves of cultists in a harsh desert environment.
When you're ready, speak to Inspector Gunther at the new desert shop plot!
New Carbon Iron Building Pieces for Taller Buildings

You can now build taller structures with all-new Stone and Carbon Iron building pieces.
The sawmill has also become more of a roleplayer for construction as you will now use it to cut planks, stone bricks, and carbon iron bars into smaller cut versions for your building pieces. These cut versions of processed materials are an important change to balance the resource costs of the new beams. We also hope it makes using the existing castle and coastal building sets less of a resource grind.
It might be helpful to acquire a Glider before experimenting with taller structures!
Expanded Employee Table Unlocks

We've added a few more lines to the Employee Table's unlock tab. You'll be able to increase your employee capacity count, train several employees at the same time, and unlock more training courses.
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we've heard about larger shops is that 8 employees sometimes isn't enough. We hope that with these new unlocks, which will allow you to have up to 16 employees at once, you can run massive shops more efficiently and reach your automation goals.
If you already have employees, you'll need to unlock these new nodes to hire more, but you'll keep your existing employees.
NPC Summons

We've added walkie talkies throughout the game that, upon use, will summon NPCs to your location. Sometimes they're friendly... and sometimes they aren't.
If you've already completed Mayor Yori's questline, talk to him for the first one of these.
Carbon Iron Crates
We've also seen feedback about wanting better late-game item storage options. Our first step for improving this is the introduction of short and tall carbon iron crates to the research tree. These crates can hold 22 and 28 items and boast high HP to keep them safe.
