Hi Explorers! 😄
We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes since our last update! Here’s what we’ve got to show you this month:
If you played this year's Wholesome Direct demo, you might have noticed that you couldn’t swim (especially if you ran into the bug that spawns you on an island, sorry about that!). So, what better way to celebrate the end of summer in the northern hemisphere than by adding swimming?!
With this new feature, rivers will be easier to cross and islands will be accessible in your future adventures!
These folks are so excited that clothes & more robust NPC generation are in!
We've expanded the parameters for NPC generation from name and face to clothes and temperament, so the cast of characters you’ll encounter has grown exponentially!
And both the NPCs and Kokopa can show off their style with equippable clothing items now. This is just the first pass at the clothing feature. There's more clothing and styles to come in the future!
Speaking of change, we’ve improved the way you use some abilities by adding an ability wheel to the Atom Scraper. For now we've got terraforming and tilling soil on the wheel, with more to be added in the future!
And last but certainly not least: we’ve improved combat! We got a lot of great feedback during the Wholesome Direct demo, and we've taken it to heart. We added a damage flash to Kokopa so you can more clearly see when he gets hit, your foes get knocked back when you hit them, and we added some more visual effects to improve the feeling of combat overall. Thanks for helping us improve the game!

Also, be sure to wishlist the game if you haven't already! Wishlisting will help us reach the largest audience possible when it comes out, so it's a great way to support the development further.
