It's been about a month since the last update. To be quick about it, I'm going to be a speaker at the Nordic Game Conference later this month and that took all of my attention, way more than I expected it to do. I did manage to work a bit on the game though, still progressing towards a demo that I can send out to some streamer friends.
Playground level to test physics
I created some form of a playground level for some testers to focus on the feel of the character, I did improve some of the physics that nobody seems to notice but I certainly did. So it feels better now when I play the game.
Editor tools and quality of life
I've been focusing on "smaller" things in the editor since I more or less only worked on the game during my live streams. So I made so that the camera will remember where you were while you jump back and forth between the level editor and your custom level. It's a small thing but I think people would notice it if it wasn't there. Also, I added a quick pause menu which isn't finished.
To speed up my workflow I've added things that people would normally expect from a level editor which is Group, Delete, Copy and Move. These did exist before but I've made them easier to use and in general make the editor easier to understand that it's in different "modes".
Art update
Other than this I've spent time drawing some interiors for the castle environments, still trying to get more confident on these parts of the development. I think I just need time with it but we'll get there eventually!
I think that I'll be able to go back to working on Hoplegs more now since things have calmed down so it shouldn't take a month for the next update!
Until then, take care!
