Hello everyone,
Here we are for a long deserved update about The Amulet of AmunRuuUUUN.
The game is an adventure game through which you'll be met with many challenges
A Game About Running & Thinking
The game is gonna be a mix of two different kinds of challenges: mainly a mix between enigmas and trials. Enigmas are mainly intellectual challenges that ask you to observe, think and reason on what the enigma is and then find a solution to it. Trials, on the other side, require dexterity, speed and accuracy to be overcome and are closer to what can be found in some platformers. At the moment, the adventure is comprised of around 20 different challenges that alternate between thinking and running. (For those of you who know To Be Headed Or Not To Be, this game is going to be more active and platformer-like on some aspect, for those who don't I encourage you to check it out).
Building a Pyramid
Now about the current state of the game. Every asset has been modelled and is ready to be used, meaning that we have now everything to build the pyramid from bottom to the top. As a result 3 rooms/chambers have been arranged. To stop with the words and start with the images, you can see below some pictures taken inside the pyramid at the moment (and please remember that this is work in progress):
The Entrance Chamber
A Probably Dangerous Corridor
A Certainly Dangerous Corridor
I am not going to go in depth about what you see and what you can expect to keep a bit of mystery surrounding what's awaiting you, but ... just so you know ... we have dancing swords ... ;)
Spicing a Pyramid
In those chambers are now located 7 different challenges. They are not completely final as playtests must be done to finalize and polish them, but the initial tests have shown them to be very encouraging (and entertaining). This amount for roughly 30% of the total challenges but it is not really meaningful as some challenges are more demanding to implement than other. What is more meaningful is that we are where we planned to be on our roadmap at the time, despite some unexpected events. So we are really glad about this.
Visiting The Pyramid
This is not the only place where progresses have been made. We are very proud to be able to present you the 2 adventurers that you will play while diving in the pyramid. Our 3D artist did an amazing job at designing and modelling those two adventurers, we'll soon move on finally bringing them to life by working on their animations.
Final Words
The Amulet of AmunRuuUUUN is growing nicely at the planned pace and we are very proud of the advancements and the progress made since our last game.
