Greetings, Commanders!
We are preparing to release the Bear Faction for Iron Conflict, which will include many land and air units. Of particular note are the rocket launchers that are especially strong against ground armored units. Familiar to military history enthusiasts is the Katyusha rocket launcher, which played an important role in World War II. In Iron Conflict, this unit can be found on the artillery tech tree. It uses its rockets to fend off attacks from groups of tanks. There are several such units in this update, so let’s take a look at them.

Tier 1 - Su-76
The Su-76 self-propelled artillery unit is built upon the T-70 light tank chassis and was used to support infantry. It is equipped with a ZIS-3 76.2mm cannon. Featuring high mobility, it was able to travel through unfavorable terrain such as swamps and forests, and used to help accompanying forces launch assaults on bunkers and reinforced structures. The Soviet Union continued to use the Su-76 until the early 1950s. Some Su-76s were used by North Korea in the Korean War. In Iron Conflict, the Tier 1 Eagle and Dragon Faction artillery units are towed artillery, so the Bear Faction stands out in offering a self-propelled artillery at Tier 1.

Tier 2 - BM-13 Katyusha Rocket Launcher
The BM-13, also known as the Katyusha, is the first self-propelled rocket launcher that was mass-produced and put into use by the Soviet Union in World War II. Compared with other artillery, this multiple rocket launcher was able to quickly unload a massive payload on its targets, though it took a long time to reload and its rockets were often inaccurate. In Iron Conflict, the BM-13 is a Tier 2 artillery unit, and can unleash a large amount of firepower in a short amount of time. If you use it in conjunction with your teammates, you can cover a large area with rockets, and deal massive damage to enemy ground armor groups.

Tier 3 - BM-21 Grad
The BM-21 Grad (which means “Hail” in Russian) is a 40-barreled rocket launcher that features quick launch speed, fierce firepower, and rapid transition between mobile and launch states. It doesn’t take long to get ready to fire and is maneuverable, but has low accuracy and stability, and exposes itself easily. In Iron Conflict, the BM-21 can be easily spotted if used too frequently from one position, so it is necessary to withdraw once it has fired and has been spotted.

Tier 4 - BM-27 Uragan
The BM-27 Uragan (which means “Hurricane” in Russian) is a 220mm 16-barrel self-propelled rocket launcher developed by the former Soviet Union and put into use starting in 1977. Manned by a six-man crew, it is capable of unleashing all of its rockets in 20 seconds. In Iron Conflict, though the BM-27 only launches 16 rockets as opposed to the Grad’s 40, it has greater power and range.
In our next update, we will introduce more powerful Bear Faction units, so stay tuned!
