Since its launch into Early Access, Iron Conflict has introduced new maps, helicopters for both factions, new gameplay modes, as well as new unit upgrades, optimizations, animation improvements, and balances. In short, the game has made a lot of progress since its Early Access launch. Today, we’re excited to announce that on May 27, Iron Conflict will have its largest update yet, with 3 sets of units for the new Bear Faction and a new snow map. Let’s take a look at some of the content!

(BM-13 Katyusha Rocket Launcher)
The biggest surprise of the 5/27 update is the appearance of the brand-new unit type, multiple rocket launchers. Unique to the Bear Faction, these units stand out from the conventional artillery units found on the Eagle and Dragon Faction trees. Featuring strong firepower, high maneuverability, and the ability to initiate potent surprise attacks, these weapons of war have played an important role in modern-day conflict. In Iron Conflict, these units appear on the Bear Faction’s artillery tree starting at Tier 2, and include the BM-27 Uragan, the BM-30 Smerch, and the TOS-2, among others. They are extremely useful against clusters of enemy armored ground units, though are quite vulnerable once spotted. Thus, many players will find a hit-and-run strategy to be effective when using these units.

(T-80B Main Battle Tank)
The Soviet Union featured the world’s most fearsome tank force in its time, and the T-series of tanks are one of the major reasons why. In Iron Conflict, the new tanks featured as part of this update are all heavy tanks, and most of them belong to the T-series, including the T-64A, the T-80B, and other main battle tanks. These tanks have excellent protection and firepower, but also have inferior mobility. They are suitable for fighting on the front lines, which they can effectively hold and stabilize under enemy onslaught.

(Su-57 Fighter Jet)
The line of fighter jets added to the Bear Faction in this update is mostly dominated by the MiG fighter jet family, from the MiG-15 to the MiG-35. Some of the most famous fighter jets in the world, the MiGs are an indispensable chapter in the history of world aviation. However, the truly stand-out unit of the bunch is the Su-57. As one of the most advanced fighters in the world today, its existence ensures that the Bear Faction’s capabilities in the skies are on par with that of the Eagle and Dragon Factions.

(Polaris)
In contrast to the Eagle and Dragon factions, which had fully fleshed-out unit trees at release, the Bear Faction only has three unit branches in this update, with a total of 24 units. Other unit types such as guided missiles, anti-air defenses, and infantry will be added in subsequent updates. In addition to the new Bear Units, the May 27 update will also feature a new snow-based map, Polaris, with its own unique terrain and strategic routes. Explore the new map to find its tactical advantages and determine which units will really shine here.
See you on the battlefield, Commanders!
