Iron Conflict will be going free-to-play on August 26th, and as part of this week’s update, we’re releasing the new 3v3 Tactical Offensive mode as well as 48 new Bear Faction units, including artillery, anti-air guns, helicopters, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, snipers, and more.
In today’s preview, we’ll be taking a look at the Bear Faction’s snipers. Compared to the Eagle Faction and Dragon Faction infantry, the Bear Faction’s snipers excel at attacking armored units. They also have an increased attack distance and better concealment than the other factions’ infantry units.

T1 & T2 - PTRD-41
The PTRD-41 anti-tank rifle was used by the Red Army during World War II. It is a single-shot rifle that fires 14.5x114mm bullets. Although unable to penetrate some German tank armor, it could penetrate the armor of early WWII tanks as well as that of self-propelled artillery.

T3 - PTRS-41; T4 - SVN-98
The PTRS-41 is an anti-tank gun developed and used by the Soviet Union during World War II. The gun began mass production in 1941 and was widely used on the Eastern Front. It performed admirably against early German tanks, but as the war progressed, the armor of German tanks became thicker and thicker. As a result, it lost some of its effectiveness, but was still used against trucks and other lightly-armored targets. In order to block the firepower of these anti-tank guns, German tanks often hung skirts on their sides to cover up their weak points.
The SVN-98 is an anti-materiel rifle made using the barrel of the Kord heavy machine gun. The SVN-98 fires ordinary 12.7mm caliber machine gun shells, so its accuracy is relatively poor, with an average spread of 160mm at 300 meters. It has a magazine capacity of 5 rounds.

T5 - SVN-98; T6 - V-94
The Tier 5 sniper also uses the SVN-98 anti-materiel rifle.
The Tier 6 sniper uses the V-94. In the mid-1980s, the Soviet Union learned from its combat experience in the Afghanistan War and began to develop a 12.7mm large-caliber sniper rifle. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Russia continued the development of this rifle, which became the V-94 sniper rifle. Debuted to the public in 1994, it began to see use in the special forces in 1996, eventually becoming the first domestically produced large-caliber sniper rifle.

T7 - V-94; T8 - KSVK
The Tier 7 sniper also uses the V-94 sniper rifle.
The Tier 8 sniper uses the KSVK sniper rifle. In the late 1990s, an improved design of the SVN-98 experimental rifle was announced, called the KSVK. The KSVK was used by a small number of Russian special forces units and was equipped in Chechnya as well. The KSVK is essentially the same as the SVN-98. Its main differences lie in its redesigned muzzle brake, the addition of a foldable mechanical sight, and the shape of its cushion at the butt of the rifle. The KSVK is also capable of using special high-precision sniper shells to improve its accuracy at long distances.
Just as the Dragon Faction and Eagle Faction infantry units have their own specialties, so too do the Bear Faction soldiers. Tomorrow, we’ll take a look at the Bear Faction’s all-new helicopters. Stay tuned!
