Greetings, Survivors!
Tomorrow you will be able to check the Siege Survival Prologue by yourselves!
We already told you about daytime sieges you will be able to actively stand against, new characters and traders you will be able to find while scavenging.
By the way, how do you like our new logo?
Today, we will tell you some more about the background work we are doing for the final version of the game:
Save system
We received a lot of feedback that the game may need a save system, and there is no way to keep your progress in Demo to get back to the game later in the day. Of course, such a system was planned for the final game, but we pushed ourselves an extra mile and we are proud to announce that you will be able to save your gameplay already in Prologue. Since Prologue is a little longer than the Demo, it may be a useful feature, and we will be also happy to test it with you to check if everything is working properly.
Every gameplay you will start will be automatically saved on the start of each day. And for every session, you will be able to load the last two mornings to fix any potential mistakes you made in the day or try some different route in a text event for an example.
We are also working on a system of saves compatibility between game versions and in addition to that – cloud save – so we will do our best to not lose your progress when we decide to drop a huge update with a lot of backend changes or you will be playing the game on the other side of the world without your personal computer around.
New Game Plus
Most of you may remember that one of our wishlist challenge rewards was New Game + system, that will allow you to change your gameplay in various parts of the game.
So, we can already show you some sneak peeks and tell you what you will be able to change to make Siege Survival sandbox experience adjusted to your demands.
After reaching a certain day in the game, you will be able to start a new adventure with adjustable change. The difficulty of battles will allow you to face more challenging battles and will put more focus on Bastion. Scavenge difficulty will change base alert level and will spawn more or fewer guards at night which will impact your ability to gather resources undetected.
You will also have the option to change the game length and frequency of battles and also set up starting resources and how many of them will be spawned in the occupied city.
Weather is another important thing because in Siege Survival there will not always be enough water to find and you may be dependent on a water collector that is collecting morning dew and rainwater. It is important to have some stored, because you may even face drought on higher difficulties.
Last but not least, you can pick characters you want to play with. Each of them has different background stories and unique hidden skills that are making them more or less efficient in some aspects. Some of them will be stronger so they will have more space in their backpacks, some will search for supplies faster or will be more skilled in handling weapons.
The best part of picking characters is that you will need to find them in your gameplay to unlock them for new adventures, so it will be a lot of fun to find all available playable characters!
You can also see on the screenshot above that we are preparing Iron mode – mode for the most demanding and challenge-hungry players that will not allow you to move back and load saved game – you will have one try and if you lose the game, it will be final.
Stay tuned!
That is all for today, we will move on to putting the last polish touches on the Prologue and we can't wait for your feedback! Also, we would like to invite you to check previous Journals that you might have missed!
