Hi everyone. It's Denis here from Curious Foxes. And in our third monthly devlog, we will talk about zoo management in Zooconomy. Let’s get started.
Zoo management
All management in the game is placed in the My Zoo menu. It consists of: Capacity management, Breeding management, Finance management and Research management. Research we will discuss in a separate devlog, so let's focus on the first 3 menus.

Capacity
By default you will have some capacity for your animals based on current mission or just on random for sandbox. Each animal in the game is placed in one of the 4 categories of capacity:
- Enclosure - for mammals
- Aquarium - for fishes
- Aviary - for birds
- Terrarium - for reptiles

Players can increase capacity in any type of housing, by just clicking on + button. Each cell will increase type capacity for specified value, for example in aviary one cell will increase aviary capacity by 5 places. One animal for one place. You can’t breed or exchange animals if you don't have enough space.

If necessary you can also “decrease” capacity, by using - button. But pay attention to the fact that you can’t lower the capacity less than the number of animals of this housing type.
Breeding
In the breeding menu player can see information about animals suitable for breeding: number of pairs, number of ready pairs, number of pregnant animals and cubs.

Ready in this context means that there is a pair of male and female animals which are in their mating period. You can see which species are in their mating period in Calendar tab:

If player wants to ‘disable’ breeding for certain animals, it can be done in Permissions tab:

It basically means that female and male animals will be separated from each other and mating won’t happen.
Finances
In the Finances menu player can see breakdown of its income and spending. As well as options to manage financing of zoo maintenance and medical spendings.

By increasing spending on maintenance, players can lower chances of animals to escape.

Same for medical, but animals will get ill less frequently:

On the Marketing tab you can launch various campaigns to promote your zoo and bring more people to it, which will generate more money for zoo expansion, expeditions and other spendings.

Various campaigns can influence overall income or just for specific animals. Players have to pay for them, but in the end profit can be much bigger.
Next time we will talk about the animals in the game and several aspects which can influence them. That’s it for today, thank you for reading and see you next time.
