In the second part of second devlog we continue talking about animal exchange in the Zooconomy.
You can watch video version of this devlog:
Relationship with Zoos
Building a good relationship with a zoo can bring several benefits. The most important one is that you can exchange any animal you want for any animal they have. To increase the relation player can just exchange animals with the zoo or gift animals to it. Each animal after a successful exchange will increase the relationship level. It can be five one animal exchanges or just one big exchange for 5 animals. The relation will increase by the same amount. But wanted animals in the exchange will get more points, so a regular red fox will get 5 points to the relationship but a wanted red fox will get 10.
Players can gift only wanted animals and will get no animals in return but it will improve their relationship status with the zoo. Gifting is available from the Zoo info menu.

If players have a high relation with the zoo it will be marked by a special icon on the map and in the Zoo info menu.

If players have a high relationship level with a zoo, this zoo will also lower the exchange rate for its animals.
Exchange process
Let's breakdown how players can exchange animals. First of all, we locate a zoo with which we can exchange animals. These zoos will be marked with a special icon on the map.

That means that we have some animals from their wanted list. Then we click on the 'Start exchange' button and begin selecting animals for exchange. We can use search to find animals and use filters for both player's and zoos’ animals. Additionally, players can mark their animals for exchange in the My Animals menu to find them easier.

When we click on the animal we will select it and the total rate will change by the animal exchange rate. For a successful exchange, we need to keep our total exchange rate equal to or more than the zoo's total exchange rate. When calculating exchange rate bonuses such as high relation level with zoo will be accounted for. When we’re ready, we can click on the 'Exchange animals’' button and if everything is alright we will receive a notification and our animals will arrive in several game days. You can even see a plane on the world map transporting the exchanged animals.
Exchanges won't happen if the player's total exchange rate is lower than the zoo's and if the player does not have enough space for the new animals. In both situations, an error message will appear.

If we are looking for a specific animal we can find it in the Database first and even see if it is available for exchange. Then we can proceed to the zoo and start an exchange without checking every zoo on the map.

All menus are still work in progress, so expect it to be changed.
Next time we will talk about the zoo management. That’s it for today, thank you for reading and see you next time.
