So err, I done goofed, whoops! All fixed now. An explanation, in case you noticed anything weird going on:
As part of the recent update, a ton of back-end variables had their default values changed. This caused some buttons to set the wrong variable upon being clicked. For example, as the previous default note shape was "semi-rounded", and the new default note shape is "rounded", the "semi-rounded" button was actually saying "set the note shape to be [default note shape]" and not specifically "semi-rounded". So once the default was updated, a ton of buttons pointed to the wrong thing! I find it highly amusing I got away with such a glaring bug for four days without anyone noticing, randomizer OP.
Changelog:
Fixed a ton of menu buttons incorrectly setting their relevant variable (eg. colour mode "static setting colour mode to "key position")
Fixed resolution dropdown to correctly update to show (or not show) the current resolution as the dropdown selected resolution after applying resolution settings
