Greetings, associate!
We have previously outlined some of the changes to combat mechanics in Revival: Recolonization. The enemy AI has been upgraded and the gameplay has evolved into a more "chess-like" system with more depth and variety added to the mix. So, what else do we have in store for you? Let's find out!

Revival’s unit editor contains three main components that allow you customize your units: body, weapon and gear, with the latter subdivided into ammo and support items. Thanks to a design overhaul by Alex Yegorenkov, who is handling combat, your choice of items can drastically affect the capabilities of your squad.
A ranged squad may be modified from an attack unit into a support one that is capable of barrage fire. All you need to do is equip them with incendiary ammo instead of armor-piercing rounds. This flexibility is crucial in the new system, where cooperation and synergy between squads matter.
A standard flamethrower tank can be replaced with an acid-firing one – pretty scary, right? This weapon type creates toxic puddles that damage the armor of whoever steps in them. They can also be used for direct assaults against armored adversaries, which is a great tactic when taking on defensive opponents!
Keep in mind that even archers from the first epoch can still pose a threat to more advanced units should you find enough materials to equip them with uranium-tipped arrows.

Support items – such as amulets that protect against long-range attacks – are just as important and are equipped in place of shields. However, this will make units more vulnerable in melee combat, so there are trade-offs to consider.
For extra protection, some items increase radiation and fire resistance. And, of course, there are invisibility devices. These engineering marvels can make even elephants undetectable. It's never been a better time to make the enemy fear your squad of four-legged ninjas!
And that's just a taste of the new items players can use in their conquest. Our goal is to diversify the combat system and allow players to create hundreds of strategic combinations on the battlefield.
Respectfully,
Revival: Recolonization Team
