Greetings, associate!
In our previous communiqué, we talked about the various weapons of the first and second epochs in Revival: Recolonization. It is time to look to the future and discuss an advanced weapon that already exists in prototype form in the real world. Today, we're talking about railguns.

A railgun is an electromagnetic mass accelerator that launches a conductive projectile along a pair of rails. It requires a high direct current to operate, which makes it cumbersome and unsuitable for individual use.
In Revival: Recolonization, the railgun is a weapon found in the fourth (and final) epoch. It is used by artillery troops as a replacement for catapults, cannons and missile launchers.
The first real-world iteration of the railgun was invented in 1970 specifically to replace guided-missile systems. Pound for pound, railguns are 40,000 times more cost effective than missiles and can be used for both anti-air and anti-missile defense.

While real-life railgun prototypes already exist, we're listing them as a futuristic weapon due to the present-day challenges in manufacturing them. This complex piece of technology requires an advanced level of military science and engineering, and we're unable to harness enough current to use them for military purposes just yet.
But (as you may have guessed from the concept above), anything is possible in Revival: Recolonization! Railguns are among the most powerful weapons in the game alongside plasma and singularity cannons, so playing around with them is fun. Just make sure your empire survives and reaches the final epoch ;)
Respectfully,
Revival: Recolonization Team
