Whew! It’s been a (dare we say it?) sweaty week out there, brawlers! And it doesn’t show any sign of easing up anytime soon! How are you doing with collecting those Ice Pops? Is there still one or two of them out there driving you crazy? Taunting you from afar with that ice-cold refreshment? You’ve got one full week of Heatwave left, so let’s get down to it!
SEASON 1, WEEK #6
Before we dive into what’s on the books for week 6, let’s pause here for a moment for a more serious conversation. I didn’t think we’d be here, nearly six weeks in, still talking about how you need to do the tutorials, but here we are. Got a buddy who just started playing? Walk them over to the Tutorial Bot before their first match. Some of y’all out here still don’t know how to curve throw. SMH.
And if this is you, we won’t tell your friends you skipped it. Just go back, learn up on everything you need to know, and collect the extra Holobux. When you’re done, you can buy yourself something nice in the Brawl Shop. A little birdie told me there are some slick-looking Legendaries in the shop for Heatwave, if you want to snag something extra shiny.
Moving on! As of the publishing time of this blog, Heatwave is 44% complete. Gentle reminder: if you’ve been saving up your Heatwave Tickets, you’re going to want to cash them in before the event ends and the items (and your tickets) are gone forever!
ROADMAP SNEAK PEEK
Since Knockout City launched, we’ve paid close attention to the feedback we’ve received from the community and used your insight to help make changes to improve the game. A little over a week ago, we announced we would bring back Team KO by popular demand, and we’ve shared updates whenever possible regarding our updates to improve bugs that caused players to receive quit penalties. Now, we thought you might like to know a little more about what’s coming for the future.
Get ready, because Season 2 will be here before you know it, with a whole new theme. It also brings a new map, a new Special Ball, three Special Events, new Season Contracts, five new Playlists, and the introduction of a new Daily Login Bonus—a random reward you’ll receive every day you play. Some examples could be Style Chips, Holobux, or Energy Drinks. Who’s gonna say no to an extra Boba Cola for that sweet boost?
There’s plenty more details on new content that will be announced in the coming days, weeks, and months (oh yeah, we’re here for the long haul, baby), so keep on brawlin’!
CONTRACTS
What’s the first thing you do when you log in for the day? If your answer isn’t, “Check and track my Contracts,” you might be missing out. How are you going to get those big XP bonuses if you don’t know what your goals are for the day? Check Contracts between matches and keep track of how you’re doing, and make sure to cross off the three new Daily Contracts each day for a quick 3000 XP boost! On the Crew Contracts side of things, don’t forget that completing all six weekly Crew Contracts will get you an XP bonus that stacks for the remainder of the season! And this week, you’re gonna want to do at least four, because your Epic Crew Vehicle is a SHARK ATTACK!
BRAWL SHOP
What’s in the shaaaaap? Well, for starters, you can get down with your bad self when you get the Glitterbomb head, available today (June 28th) in the Brawl Shop!
Then, keep your eyes peeled on July 3rd for a Legendary face in the shop. If you’ve been following along for a while now, you may remember the image in the Tweet below that had everyone pondering. What could be so special about Secret Balloon Man? What kind of face was he hiding behind that black bar? And why couldn’t he come down and pose with the rest of the Crew anyway? Want a sneak peek? Tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT, we’ll reveal Balloon Man’s hidden dome live at https://www.twitch.tv/KnockoutCity. Our dev team streams every Tuesday with live gameplay, discussions, and more, so pop in and chat about the game and ask your questions! Who knows? We may even give away some Style Chips or a KO City Swag Box (not found in stores—well, not found anywhere)!
PLAYLISTS
This week’s new playlist is one a few of you guessed at—it’s Classic Team KO. No Special Balls, no Sniper Ball or Bomb Ball to run from, just you and your skills. Let’s see how you do!
INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!
Want your friends to get in on the dodgebrawl action, but need to give them a little push in the right direction? Well, take them down to the store on their platform of choice, because right now, Knockout City is 25% off on PlayStation®, Xbox, Origin, and Steam! These deals won’t last long, so don’t delay!
PLAY OF THE WEEK
This week’s Play of the Week is a little sneak attack move by twitch.tv/rahlyx_ who just peeked around a corner and… well, you’ll see!
COMMUNITY CATWALK
How could we pass up this absolutely adorable character art by @HoneyReporter? We couldn’t. We just couldn’t.
THAT’S A WRAP
Stay cool out there until next week, Brawlers!
