Hi everyone! I know it's been a while, but I have big news! I’m excited to share that Harvest Island is being rebuilt from RPG Maker MV into Godot! This is more than just a change of engine or a port, it’s a chance to revisit the game from the ground up, polish it, and add everything we’ve always wanted. At the moment, there is no date or expected finish time, but the roadmap below will show the priorities. Throughout the re-work, I will be inviting testers, as needed, to test the new build of the game.
Why re-build in Godot? A smoother foundation for future updates Space to add new features, story content, and mechanics A full roadmap leading into 2026 with expanded lore, quests, endings, and systems.
Here’s what’s new so far: Becky’s story has been expanded with redesigned levels. I’ve added dynamic lighting and a horror atmosphere to make the island feel more alive. Movement is now completely free (no more grid!) with an improved camera system. You’ll also notice animated character portraits during dialogue and intuitive object interactions for a more immersive experience.
The Harvest Island 2.0 future Roadmap (see image below)
Phase 1: New story content, redesigned levels, free movement, dynamic lighting, Steam Deck support, more interactions
Phase 2: Farming overhaul, revamped cooking, story cohesion, new systems, reworked achievements
Phase 3: Localization, expanded lore, reworked sanctuary, secret expanded endings, and a full no-cliffhanger finale
This rebuild opens the door to making Harvest Island the best version of itself. Thanks for sticking with me as the game grows into 2.0. Join discord to sign up for the playtest and DM our community managers, @Jennifer, for a key! Be sure to give us your feedback after your playtest!
