A - We are MADE BY TITANS, an awesome indie games development studio!
We are a 2 person startup studio based in the beautiful North East of England working on our first studio title, ‘Squishy Sports’. Our studio mission is to create fun, quirky and daft gaming experiences to be enjoyed by all as well as supporting the growth of the next generation of aspiring game devs. We want to add to the growth of the North East’s video games industry and build the bridges between education and industry to provide aspiring game developers with the opportunities we would have wanted at the start of our careers.
Our goal is to build quirky video games that can be enjoyed by the whole family through enticing visuals and family friendly themes. We also want our games to be accessible within our control systems so that they are easy to pick up and play. This is to create a low barrier of entry and continue to destroy the stigma of video games needing to be violent!
The MADE BY TITANS development team is currently composed of 2 people : Chris and Matt! Although we also work with a number of other awesome industry professionals to help us on our indie dev journey!
Chris is a game designer, programmer and co-founder. He handles the technical side and game design of development on our title ‘Squishy Sports’. He’s been developing indie games for around 13 years, handling most aspects of game development from inception to launch apart from art/animation as he can’t draw at all! He’s worked with some fantastic companies such as Miniclip, Armorgames, Newgrounds, Kongregate, Nickelodeon and MTV. I got my start by creating a small little web/mobile game series called ‘Space is Key’ that absolutely blew up and has had over 150 million plays to date. Chris also coined the term ‘bed sweets’ - a stash of sweets/confectionery in/on the bedside table - who doesn't need 'bed sweets'?!
Matt is an artist, animator and co-founder. He handles everything visual in our title, ‘Squishy Sports’. His background prior to TITANS was in AAA games, working for Eutechnyx as an animator on titles such as the ‘Nascar the Game’ series and ‘Warhammer Storm of Vengeance’. Matt has a 1 year old Labrador called Yoshi who enjoys any type of food and chewing on Matt's office chair!
Chris and Matt met whilst teaching students aged 16+ game development at college where we blend industry and education! Making successful games is a massive task with so many interweaving processes such as development, marketing, business development and more! We are super proud of everything he has achieved as a development duo so far and can't wait to keep moving forward development as we get closer to release!
So yeah! It's nice to meet you! :)
