Hey One Screeners! (Sorry I am just trying out nicknames for you, is 1SPers better?) Let me know
Anyway I just posted an update for 1 Screen Platformer Prologue that is going to make life a LOT better for you. When jumping in tight quarters it will feel much more natural.
Basically when you jump up and are just a few pixels away from the edge I will actually nudge you to the side so you can make it up instead of hitting your head on the block. Check it out here, you see how Nadia slides around that block. It is going to make things feel so much better.
Here are the other changes
- Reduced respawn time by 1/4 a second. I hope your run times improve by more than that.
- Selecting a checkpoint will now allow the main character to fall back down to the ground.
- Barrels go back to their starting point if you die, and they flow in a more natural path when you jump back in them. They don't just turn around and go backwards.
- Fixed the lasers so they are now centered and not slightly leaking out the side of the gun. Also a little particle effect because lasers need particle effects.
- Filled in the spaceship background, there were a couple places you could see the stars.
- Added a special thanks section for all the great folks who beta tested my game pre release.
- Moved the boxes at the top of the warehouse area over by 1. Nobody asked for that, that is just me. Sometimes you have to do things for yourself.
- Fixed the layout for the checkpoints. They will now always appear behind you instead of mixmash of some being in front and some behind.
- Fixed the timer so it also is always in front of everything.
Thats all for this week. I will talk to you again next Thursday when I have more changes.
Keep on playing. If you want to chat about speedrunning tricks or trying to figure out how String Cheese got a 5 minute run...
