Steam Autumn Game Festival
Two months ago, the four of us at Not a Sailor Studios stumbled upon an upcoming Steam event that looked all too familiar. It was the grand announcement of the Steam Autumn Game Festival! As I was ecstatic and others groaned, we we're going to apply no matter what. Despite last Steam Game Festival having quite a rocky and stressful start, we had high hopes for this one. As soon as we got the confirmation that Buddy Simulator was accepted, we got to work. We prepared many things but ultimately we made sure the stream would start at the right time and with the right game, if some of you recall the chaos of the last event.
As the day rolled around, the team was fully prepared to knock it out of the park no matter what happened. We started the stream 30 minutes early with much success. Off to a good start, we decided to chill out for a short bit and just breathe. At first, we we're getting about 25 viewers before the official start time. We would still be more than happy with that number, but we set our hopes high this time. Right as 12:00 sharp hit, the views went crazy. First 700, then 1000, moving fast to 1800, and by the time we hit our peak of the broadcast, 2700 viewers. It was incredible to see how many people came out to support us. Some old and some new! Buddy Sim even got featured in the "Live and Featured" tab of the festival! This was a dream come true.
The stream went great and we even showed off some new footage of the 2D part of the game, that took place after where the demo ended. It was a nice little treat for all of our fans who stayed until the end. After we finished, we decided to give one more gift out to everyone. Something the community has been asking for months now: a price tag. If you've made it this far, I think you deserve to know as well! I even put it in a big font, so your eyes probably jumped right to it before reading this.
Game Price
$9.99
We concluded the day with a wonderful Q&A session with our Discord. There were tons of wonderful questions that were asked! I won't be able to write everything down like last time, but we do have a video taken by one of our mods, DeveloperX, that is currently in the works! There is a lot of great information there from game secrets and what most embarrasses Josh the most to Brandon Sushi. You can check that out on our Discord when it is finished.
What's Next
Great question. We have no idea. We are just going to keep working our butts off to finish the game and bring you all something fun, unique, and hopefully amazing. The four of us are staying safe and healthy in these tough times. We are all working full time on Buddy Simulator 1984 so we can deliver the best experience we can. With only two months until release, you will be seeing us a lot more! If you want to stay up to date with all of our projects, check out our social medias below! If you want some cool Buddy Simulator 1984 stickers, we have those too!
