I'm excited to be moving the game into version .5. This major update will introduce the concepts of streaks.
What are streaks?
Streaks are how many times in a row you've hit a perfect skill check. By doing this your attack will do additional damage. This will allow players to control the tide of battle by simply performing well. This effect starts at 10% more base damage per perfect skill check all the way up to 50% more damage. This effect will stay in play until you mess up.
I thought the game skill ceiling was a little too low but adding streaks to the game will push the ceiling much higher! A lot of times when you're fighting another players unit with one of your own, they will be low health so you know you won't have to hit a perfect skill check to kill them. But now you also have to make the decision to mess up your streak; winning the battle but losing the war.
Ocean Shader
I updated the ocean shader to a more pleasant look and feel. The last one seemed to spaazy for me and was a plane that was just stretched. Now I've redone this effect to lay planes down next to each other in a grid and you can see for yourself, it looks a lot better.
Until next time!
