Claire, the Fire Mage
We've released our first hero, Claire. Claire is now available in the Hero Monument. She is much more powerful than any other unit in the game. She comes with four abilities to wreck your opponent.
- Fireblast - this shoots two fireballs at a single target dealing damage and setting them on fire.
- Fire Eruption - this causes fire to erupt on all adjacent tiles to Claire causing damage and setting enemy units and buildings on fire.
- Blink - Allows Claire to blink away - ignoring normal paths( so over buildings and other units ).
- Lightning storm - cast a lightning storm on a specific tile and all adjacent tiles
New Map - Bridges
I've also added a new map to the map pool called Bridges. This map has more of a base setup like starcraft so you move through the map trying to build near other 'bases' that have lumber, stone and gold.
Misc
Adding the lightning storm ability made it so I had to implement a way for tiles to have effects on them which is cool because it opens the doorway for me to add other effects to tiles quite easily. In the future, I can add things like random resources that you can pickup throughout the map by traversing a tile, taking damage by stepping on a tile or any other tile related effects.
Adding a new map is me trying to figure out the best way to take the game in terms of map design. I want their to be a reason to be out on the map but being out on the map will also give you increased vulnerability.
Until next time!
