This week in The Cyclist's development we focused on AI work. Better ways for the AI to tell how to deal with escapes, unfavorable terrain, and be smart about that pesky time limit have made their way into the game. Here is the full changelog.

Demo Update 4 Improvements & Fixes

- Implemented better calculations for gauging escape and relay strength
- Implemented time limit considerations for the AI
- Implemented that riders go harder across unfavorable terrain for efficiency
- Made AI escapees have a bias to move closer to their target energy use
- Made rest riders relay when they are not in the peloton
- Fixed the character sheet showing the yellow time gap to disqualified riders
- Fixed a bug which made leaders too aggressive for the first 100 nodes of a race
There will be another update coming in the next few days which adds tour team strategies to vastly improve their focus and staying power in tours.
Please note that according to our development schedule this will be the last of the weekly patches as we now start to delve into finishing up the career mode. Of course, if necessary we will patch the demo with bugfixes. The next planned update patch for the demo is scheduled to drop in 3 weeks with general fixes, tweaks, and some smaller GFX updates.
We're looking forward to hearing how it all plays now, and especially with the coming 4.1 update in tours!
Cheers!
