v.1.0.0.5
Developer Notes
With the 1.0.0.4 update, the "1TK" (One Turn Kill) strategy being used to defeat bosses too quickly, has been made more difficult to execute. (This tactic has not been completely eliminated)
We believe that the ideal attack balance does not give an advantage to either the 1TK strategy or the Party (Tank/Attacker/Healer) strategy, but rather makes it possible to defeat the bosses with whichever strategy the player prefers.
However, there's no denying the powerful merits of the 1TK strategy. As such, we plan to add in more risks to balance out the upsides. (High risk / high reward)
We also adjusted the effects of skills with either no risks or risks that were easily eliminated. Furthermore, we buffed the abilities of unpopular Heroes in order to expand the range of possible strategies.
And, we are planning the content and system updates below:
- Hero costume and hair color change functions
- New Arena Mode
- Add "Successor" difficulty level (temporary name)
Enjoy!
Improvements
- Power adjustments for skills which deal damage in proportion to HP/MP will now display correctly.
(Overpower/Flesh From Bone/Eradicate/Lay on Hands/Self Destruct/Quick Fire/Shield Bash)
- Fixed spots with duplicate Skill/Effect icons.
- Skill duration no longer resets when applying a skill while the same skill is already applied and its remaining duration is longer.
- The name of a skill which activates after a specific duration of time will now be displayed in text.
- The "Use Item" icon is now shown at all times while in dungeons.
- The menu will automatically jump to the last-opened page when opening or closing the main menu by controller or shortcut.
- While waiting for the subjugation force, additional explanatory text will also be displayed.
- Added new shortcuts.
* Both the arrow keys and WASD keys can now be used to move or navigate menus.
* Changed the Object Event shortcut key binding to F.
* The Tab key now opens the menu.
* Future updates will add a page explaining the keyboard shortcuts.
Balance Changes (Heroes)
- Warrior
* Indiscrimination Accuracy penalty lowered from -30% to -15%. Critical hits no longer occur.
* Taunt Aggro increased from 300% to 400%. Cooldown lowered from 5 to 4.
* Shield Bash damage changed from 60% to 80%
Developer comments: Indiscrimination now results in very powerful attacks in any fight, even monster hunts and boss battles. With the lower Accuracy penalty rate and elimination of Critical hits, it remains an effective attack skill for hunts. But, because risks were reduced, we also reduced its damage potential in boss battles.
- Warlock
* Necrosis effect changed from 20% Magic Resistance reduction to 10% Harmful Effect Resistance reduction.
* Dark Passenger Accuracy bonus eliminated. This skill has also been modified so that duration can no longer be extended further.
Developer comments: As the job concept for the Warlock is a class that hinders enemies, we changed the effect of Necrosis to better match the Warlock's role. For Dark Passenger, the problem was that it was far too easy to eliminate the risk of falling into a Coma. So, we have increased the risks to be more in proportion to the powerful abilities of this skill.
- Ranger
* Added a Free Action to Quick Fire skill effect.
- Cook
* Lowered the Accuracy penalty of Cooking Spirit from -10% to -5%.
* Increased the Effect Chance of Food Poisoning from 50% to 75%, which will now also inflict the Weakness debuff.
* Base Attack Power increases based on the Cook's level.
- Priest
* Increased Well of Life healing from 100% to 150%. Increased Cooldown from 3 to 5. Also, gave Priests the ability to remove Coma.
- Exile
* Increased Flesh From Bone HP bonus from 100% to 150%.
* Added a Free Action to Scapegoat effect. Increased Cooldown from 0 to 2.
- Charmer
* Changed Concentration's Evasion and Harmful Effect Resistance from 50% to 30%.
- Apparitor
* Increased the Attack Power of Interrogate from 40% to 60%. Attack Power now drops 20% with each attack.
* Increased Cooldown for Interrogate+ from 0 to 2. Attack Power now drops 10% with each attack.
Developer comments: Apparitors were performing poorly in battles against regular monsters. Therefore, we increased their base Attack Power so that they have good strength even when under only a few strengthening effects. We also made adjustments to address balance issues with Attack Power becoming too high based on the number of strengthening effects.
- Nose Picker trait penalty changed to -30% Harmful Effect Resistance.
Balance Changes (Items)
- Witch's Cauldron
* Slightly lowered the success rate for crafting consumable items.
* Stopped two or more Mythical-grade items from appearing at the same time.
- Changed Sasquatch Mustache Aggro from -100% to -80%.
- Changed the range of Powder of Haste to affect one row of allies instead of all allies.
Developer's comments: Powder of Haste had too strong an effect for how easy it was to acquire. So, we've changed Haste penalty and narrowed the AOE so that it would be used more judiciously.
Balance Changes (Monsters and Battles)
- Added the Recovered from Electrocute status. Characters are now protected from being Electrocuted again for one turn after recovering from Electrocute. (Effect similar to Recovered from Stun/Mesmerize)
Developer's comments: We noticed it was too easy for characters to repeatedly be Electrocuted. We thought our players would get irritated if we didn't fix this. On the flip side, this status effect made it very easy to render bosses powerless. So, we adjusted the skill to make it difficult to inflict repeatedly, like other effects, in an effort to eliminate these situations.
- When Purin the Witch battles a Charmer, Mystic Incense and Snake Pot are now replaced with Brave Incense and Rattlesnake Dance.
- Revised the effects of Haste. When the effects of Haste wear off, characters now take a Speed penalty and are inflicted with the Burnout debuff, which prevents the Haste effect from being reapplied. The same applies for the Rogue's Adrenaline Skill. After its duration is complete, the character it was used on is now also hit with the Burnout debuff.
- Increased HP by around 100-200 for Level 6+ boss monsters, excluding Mainframe OMEGA and Purin the Witch.
Developer's comments: This change has been made to increase the risk of using a 1TK strategy. Changes were also made so that players don't feel a significant difference in game difficulty following balance adjustments, including increases to Hero abilities.
- Changed the Genie of the Lamp's weakness from Dark to Light.
- Added fixed skill Five Finger Death Blast to Purin the Witch. The simpler the player's party of Heroes, the more frequently this skill will activate.
- Acsam now able to execute Irresistable Offer on his first turn.
