A Severed Steel demo is available to download right now from the game's Steam page. It's been released as part of this year's Digital Dragons 'Indie Celebration', which is taking place on Steam today and tomorrow (13-14 May).
The demo includes a generous amount of content, although you will need to level-up to unlock most of it. There are six arcade mode levels, four gameplay modifying 'Mutators' (Paintball, Double Jump, Big Heads, Exploding Enemies), and - of course - various weapons to sample, including the Ayakashi instagib rifle, and masonry melting Arm Cannon.
To get some playing pointers, watch the video at the top of the Store page to see the game's developer, Matt Larrabee, sliding, diving, and homiciding his way through the demo. It's a masterclass in stunt-killing.
Severed Steel is one of 60 games selected for the Digital Dragons showcase, and every game has got a demo. You can find them all on the Indie Celebration event page.
