Hey folks,
I'm beyond psyched to announce BIG HOPS TOGETHER 1.0 is released.
You can now play the BIG HOPS adventure together with up to 8 players!
I had more to say over here about the broad strokes and motivation behind this update:
For now I just want to introduce myself and set some expectations here.
I'm Chris! I directed BIG HOPS and am the designer / programmer who put this update together. I live in Austin, TX in the USA and I've been making games for over a decade. BIG HOPS has taken up about 7 years of my time now and I still love working on it.
BIG HOPS TOGETHER has taken 4 months of focused full time work and there's still plenty of bugs to find and fix and I want to ask for your understanding and patience as I work through issues. I'm active in our Discord and I'm happy to help and fix things as they come up. Please consider joining our group to find people to play with and to send bug reports: https://discord.gg/5vpYQYf5tf
Existing single player saves will carry over fine, but you may see some issues in single player that weren't there before. I don't know of any now and I'm quick to fix them as they come up, but if you're worried about stability you can always switch to the CLASSIC branch from before BIG HOPS TOGETHER.
To switch to the classic branch:
Right click BIG HOPS in your library and select Properties
Find the Game Versions & Betas tab
Opt into the classic branch there and you're set
Also, BIG HOPS works on Macs now. I've only tested on Apple Silicon, so let me know if you have issues there or elsewhere on OSX.
Thanks for playing BIG HOPS and see you around!
