Ethel Vance, the first addition to Terminal Station, is leaving beta this week.
Though Terminal Station is the ranged area of the game, we generally include a few enemies capable of fighting at the opposite range to prevent trivializing the entire area with range locking effects. Aurelia fulfills this role in the easy pool, and Ethel does the same for the hard pool.
She can be seen as a counterpart to Victoria. Both fights are fairly difficult to beat just by attacking. Victoria is mostly a scaling check, since Deflector Shield effectively gives her much more health than normal. Ethel is a defense check, to see if you can consistently protect yourself until she dies to Core Meltdown. Currently, there aren't many fights that check your ability to block consistently, with Kira being the only other one. Ethel is intended to make purely defensive cards more viable during her battle.
Version v0.64a, the previous version, is now live on the main branch.
Version v0.64.1 [Beta]
-The AI now understands energy efficiency, and is much less likely to waste Energy or walk unnecessarily.
-The AI is now much more likely to use Status banishing effects when they would be effective.
-The AI will no longer play duplicates of Halt, Cheat Death, or Attack Order, since they don't stack.
-Added hoverable indicators to the character select screen for character range and element.
-Fixed an extremely rare crash that occurred when the AI's entire hand was valued lower than a nonstackable Power like Blade Dance.
