Howdy, survivors!
In a previous discussion we already spoke about the zombies, but we realized that we left something out, talking about the various guns that you can use to shoot the zombies with. So let's fix that now.
Currently, the game has six guns, each being more suitable for specific situations. Let's talk more about each of them!
HM60 Pistol
You get this weapon at the start of the game, so don't expect too much from it. A zombie can usually take up to 4 hits from this weapon before going down, making it one of the weaker weapons, however, it only takes a few seconds to reload. We recommend using it in the early stages of the game when you need to fight against several zombies while saving resources for crafting.
Crossbow
This will most likely be the first weapon that you craft. It shoots arrows at a slow rate, but it inflicts more damage so it can take down a zombie in just 3 hits. The crossbow does have one major advantage over all the other weapons, it shoots silently and so does not attract the attention of other zombies. What's more, if you run out of arrows and need more, you only need to find some branches to craft more. These are abundant in the game - and especially near your house!
SHM3 Shotgun
In all likelihood, this is likely to become your favorite weapon, especially for close-range combat! After all, the shotgun can kill several zombies at once with just one shot, making it ideal for use in cramped locations, such as exploring the long-abandoned houses. Just beware, like all shotguns, it has atrocious accuracy at medium and long ranges.
SMP5 Submachine Gun
The second best gun for close-ranged combat. Unlike the shotgun that has a high damage per shot but low fire rate, slow reload time, and small magazine, the SMP5 has a high rate of fire, large magazine, and reloads very quickly. Keep it close by for the inevitable time when you run out of ammo in your shotgun, and the zombies keep swarming towards you!
RM1 Rifle
If you like to shoot zombies from a distance, then you will love this gun. This rifle is ideal for taking out zombies one by one from a safe distance, just be sure to have a plan to keep the distance between yourself and the zombies as the rifle is not suited for use in close ranges.
RM16 Rifle
An upgraded version of the RM1 Rifle. The RM16 has been upgraded to hold more bullets per magazine and comes with a higher rate of fire, it can also be used somewhat effectively at closer ranges. Ultimately this rifle is the swiss army knife of your arsenal, as it is suitable for practically any situation, from skirmishes all the way to boss fights! Though do keep in mind that the ammunition for this rifle is quite expensive, meaning that you most likely won't have that much spare ammo, but it makes up for this in its sheer efficiency at dispatching the zombies!
