Hey everyone.
Firstly: sorry it's been so long since the last update. Things took a turn for the worse for a while there and, just when I was starting to get things ready for launch in 2023, Unity decided to stab its developers in the back.

What happened
Not wanting to deal with a partner who was happily ready and waiting to stab me in the back, I immediately discontinued all my Unity-based projects. Since then, I've been gearing up in other engines to bring my projects to life once more.
To Ash and Ember is the first to get this treatment. I've switched over to Godot 4.2. In the three weeks I've spent rebuilding TAE so far after spending a few months learning the ins and outs of working with Godot, I've already made significant strides. The core gameloop is almost back in and I'm revisiting the entire Confrontation system.
What's changing
This won't simply be a 'rebuild in another engine' however: I'm intending on taking advantage of the opportunity to revisit core concepts in the game; from dungeons to demigods, I'm not just converting what I had, I'm trying to find better and even more fun ways to approach them. The core vision of the game remains unchanged and I intend to continue crafting the game's art as I did back in 2022.
That said, I will be slowly changing out the screenshots, logo, description, etc to match the current look and feel of the game once it's in a more complete state.

When can it be played?
At this time, I'm unsure of when specifically the game will be launching. I can do no more than confirm the project is actively being worked on and is shaping up rapidly.
As Steam does not want me to launch the game in Early Access (I asked a while back and was denied), I will be hosting early builds of the game on my itch.io page as well as posting news updates here when I hit major milestones going forward. I hope to speedily get back to where I was and sprint past it in short order.

Thank you all for keeping the faith, for your patience, and for the continuing and continued wishlisting of the game. I hope you'll enjoy what's coming!
