Hello everyone!
This post is dedicated to our fantastic community and especially to our volunteers who worked hard to translate Imperiums into their mother tongue.
The Imperiums' language family now has a new member - Italian!
Every language localization in Imperiums has its own story written by the people behind it and Italian was no exception.
Its story began a few months before the game was released when Pierto contacted us and offered his help in translating the game to Italian. Over the following months he did an amazing job completing most of the scenario texts. Unfortunately, his workload started to be very exhausting and the translation was put on ice for several months with approx. 60% of the texts translated.
At the beginning of spring, another two Italians, Stefano and Gianpaolo, joined the team. They split the remaining texts and by summer all the vanilla game texts were finished. Then we went through the necessary process of proofreading and playtesting. At this point, Gianpaolo took everything on his shoulders and in the following months he playtested the whole game, corrected all the issues and even finished all the texts for the upcoming Age of Alexander DLC.
Thanks to him, Italian players can enjoy both Imperiums: Greek Wars and Age of Alexander in their native language.
Let's hear from Stefano and Gianpaolo.
Stefano:
It was hard work, but it had to be done, because the language could not be an obstacle in knowing this fantastic game. Have fun!
Gianpaolo:
Hello, my name is Gianpaolo and I had the opportunity to participate in this big translating project of Imperiums, together with other guys who like me, share a passion for video games. For some, the language barrier poses a great problem, from this point of view the chance to help in my own little way makes me very proud. Imperiums Greek Wars is a 4X game and as we all know there are few or none at all in the Italian language. Having the possibility to play such a game in our own language, gives us a bigger profoundness of the game itself and allows us to appreciate its most hidden secrets, which in a foreign language could be lost on us. I really thank the developers who let me be part of all this and I take the opportunity of also thanking the guys who have participated together with me in the translation. Finally, I would like to wish the whole Italian gaming community lots of fun with Imperiums.
We all hope that this localization brings the game closer to Italian players and that those who were hesitating to play the game in Italian can now join our growing player base. The ancient battlefields are waiting for you now!
If you find a mistake in the texts or you want to suggest a way to improve them, feel free to share your ideas and opinions on the Steam forum or our dedicated Italian Discord channel.
If you like the game and the quality of the translation, please do write a review in Italian. Gianpaolo, Pierto and Stefano will surely appreciate the feedback and they rightly deserve any praise.
Yours,
Kube Games team.
