Hello troops,
A quick update from headquarters; In an attempt to continuously develop and continuously deliver features to you, rather than waiting for a single massive update, I bring to you an update with 2 key features.
Small Bug Fix
The Arnhem Update has been positively received by most players, and I'm happy to hear you're all enjoying the new map and the airborne spawn for the British, However, a bug was noticed where sometimes the parachute for bots would not disappear after they had landed, and the chute would follow them around wherever they went. I believe the root cause of this has been found and the problem addressed. I will be watching this as I would like to continue to use airborne spawns if I decide to make other maps for which it would be appropriate (no promises of any specific maps at this time).
Simple Spectator Camera
Some users have asked for the ability to spectate a battle. I have added a simple spectator camera button under the "Deploy" button on the Redeploy screen. You can fly around the map without any restrictions; the camera has no collision or limits. You can watch the battle from any angle and enjoy some really cinematic/beautiful moments!

You can watch battles unfold through the spectator camera from any angle!
A Personal Note about Unlocking the Spectator Camera...
Yes, you can even fly to parts of the level I never intended anyone to go, and you can even fly under/outside of the level. While some may think an entirely unlocked camera is a bit crude, I have a different belief.

Anzio - Day 2 from really, really, really far away. You weren't supposed to see this!
One of my absolute favorite things I ever did when playing games back in my youth was to see things the developers didn't intend for me to see. I would try to tilt cameras a certain way to expose hidden parts of a level or to see the magic and trickery that was creating the virtual world I was inhabiting. It is with that same spirit that I leave the spectator camera unlocked. You can fly around, see all the rough edges, hidden bodies, and tricks that are used in Brass Brigade. I hope those of you that have any passion or interest in game development enjoy this little nod to my own childhood. I love learning how things work, and you can now take a peek at some of the things I never meant for anyone to see....just don't bother me about these rough edges (I'm trusting all of you!), I'm only human :)
The Future
Snipers are currently in the works. Sniper weapon functionality is pretty solid at this time. I still need to create the scope overlays that are correct for each weapon (I'm using ugly placeholders at this time) and I'm even working to make bots with sniper rifles seek out advantageous positions and engage their targets from a distance; they shouldn't be running into the fray like their SMG-toting comrades.
Until next time,
Henry
