Hello everyone, we have a final trailer for you!
The Rewinder will launch on Steam on September 10th, at 12am PDT. It features six main chapters, about a dozen characters (human and non-human), an original soundtrack of ~20 tracks, a regular ending and a secret ending for you to discover. We expect a regular playthrough to be 4-5 hours, although it might vary depending on how you get along with the puzzles.
In this final trailer, we share a little more about our story world and the gameplay elements, hope you enjoy it!

With that out of the way, a small personal note:
With the release date fast approaching, it is a busy and emotional time for all of us in the dev team. We can't help but look back at when it all started, as a tiny part-time two-person studio more than 3 years ago. So we wanted to share with you a little bit about the inspirations and motivations for why we made this game:
The Rewinder is clearly inspired by our culture - the pixel art style is inspired by traditional Chinese ink paintings, and you'll see various elements in our story that are taken from the mythologies we grew up with. In the full version of the game, you'll see puzzles built around things like the abacus, the steelyard scale and the spinning wheel - things that were around for thousands or hundreds of years, but might be quickly going out of fashion, replaced by computers and machines.
So in making them a part of this game, we hope to share a little piece of our culture and our memory with you - from all around the world. And where better to do that than in a puzzle game? Hopefully, even if you have never seen or used a steelyard scale in real life, you would enjoy the challenge of learning how they work as a part of our puzzle. As game developers, there's no greater joy than that.
September 10th, let's rewind the world.
