The menu plays a special role in Food Truck Simulator. It is not just a visual asset to make your food truck look more food truck-ish, it serves an actual purpose and a really important one.
As a matter of fact, in a way the menu is one of the most important aspects of running your food truck. The menu is something you define each day before you leave your base. You can only sell items that are on the menu.

What goes onto the menu is dictated by the location that you want to set up at and obviously the storage capacity of your food truck. In the early stages of the game, refrigerated storage will be your limiting factor, later on this shouldn’t be an issue. Another major factor is what dishes you are comfortable preparing.
While it’s wise to prepare the menu before setting off, the menu by all means is not static. You can change it anytime, and sometimes you will need to. When you run out of certain ingredients and are unable to make some of the dishes or run out of goods like soda or coffee, leaving them on the menu while not being able to sell them will result in unsatisfied customers.

Running out of things is obviously not the only reason to alter the menu. Another one is when changing locations, not to mention if it gets late. While you might offer tea, coffee and soda during the day, should you stay out longer, at least adding beer or wine to the menu in the evening won’t hurt your income.
The further you progress into the game and the better you equip your food truck, the more items the menu will be able to hold. While you start out with only 5 positions on the menu, you’ll quickly upgrade it to 7, 10 and then later on all the way up to 25 items that can put on the menu.
