We are excited to reveal the all-new art style for Wreckout - injecting the game with more colour, more character, and more action!
We have already updated the store page assets with this vibrant new style, but we wanted to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the development process of the new arena, logo and characters.
Pinball Dream Park
Our renewed vision for the arenas in Wreckout is for each to embody an out-of-this-world theme, which spills over into gameplay. We started designing Pinball Dream Park by focusing on how a Pinball theme might affect gameplay in interesting ways. A series of sketches were then produced to nail down the general style of the arena. From the thumbnails below, 3B was chosen:
A detailed sketch was then produced to fine-tune the design:
Next, a colour draft was created to give a feeling of the new vibrant art style we were going for:
The final stage was a high-quality render, complete with multiple code-controllable lighting layers to allow spectacular in-game effects:
We couldn't be happier with how Pinball Dream Park looks, and with flippers, bouncers, chutes and extra-ball launchers integrated into the design, it not only looks stunning, it also injects the gameplay with a whole new level of thrilling action.
