It is symbolic that this news is published in #42 of KOTOVOD Worker! '42' is the answer to Life, Universe and Everything... Dr. Katz and his team don't have an answer to this question yet, but their latest invention certainly adds more meaning to the life on Mars!
Global Progression Scale demonstrates what needs to be done as we keep moving towards singularity! It is marked with milestones, which also come with bonuses for Learning Factory performance. It is a great help for KOTOVOD's engineers, as they can now stop bothering about puny human questions, such as the meaning of life: they have a scale to progress on! And the answer to all questions is, as usual: get back to work!
Get back to work we shall! Glory to Science! Glory to KOTOVOD!

Version 0.10.49 Released!
Global Progression Scale
- New story chapters (a.k.a. comics) are now unlocked via achieving certain milestones on the scale (to be found in the Monument). Its main features:
- Major milestones: unlocked mainly by successfully serving cats
- Minor milestones: unlocked mainly by researching stuff on the Research Tree
- Unlocking milestones grants minor cumulative multipliers for various Factory mechanics: at this time, it's research performance and researcher parameters, and Hype levels. More unlock bonuses will be added in the future
- Some major milestones unlock additional gameplay mechanics (see below)
- Certain milestone unlock will let cat researchers reach out to you with their CVs. If your Dormitory is already full, you can stop accepting applications in the Tavern
- After certain milestone unlock, regularization will be applied to linear and polynomial models, which will slightly increase their performance
- Every milestone unlocked will visually change the Monument looks (graphics in this version are not final though)
- Deposit mechanics becomes available after reaching the first milestone
Gameplay
- (community suggestion) pressing 'backspace' or 'delete' on the buildings from your toolbar lets you dismantle them and get up to 50% resources back
- Researcher generating algorithm has been tuned to make researcher perks more diverse and frequent to appear
- New perks for researchers
- New look options for researchers
- Tuned up Metal Vein generation on Archipelago maps in Freeplay Mode: more Veins spawn now
Visual
- Holiday theme! Cats sporting Santa hats are sending you seasonal greetings. More Holiday-related content coming soon
- Neural Network buildings occupy 6*6 tiles (previously - 4*4)
- More metallic Metal looks!
Interface
- Feedback button is now present in the main menu as well
- (community suggestion by xwingxx) when a building is selected from the toolbar, respective icon is highlighted
- UI improvements
- Cat Stores and Data Storages now display whether a cat invited a friend or dissatisfied a friend as a result of a deal
- Upon having started learning, ML models are marked with a special alert sign that signifies that said models are not yet trained to convergence, and they can't be automatically connected to Stores until they converge. This alert disappears after a certain amount of training epochs
- Upon opening an ML building, player can see whether there are better trained ML models, connected to the same network
- If an ML model is automatically switched to a higher tier model, the former model will be halted as chances of it to work more effective are close to 0
Other
