We've just got back to full work this week, since the week of new year was a little extra time off... but, glad to be back. Bro A here, hoping you guys had a great new year!
When looking at games on steam under the dreaded 'To Be Announced' release date, I'm always left wondering how that game will actually flow. Well, to not be a hypocrite, I'm going to layout how our game flows from beginning to end, and show you where we are currently.
The Game Flow
The game begins with Xiaxen waking up in Arkar, and moves into his lessons as the 'Influential One'. After these lessons, he's tasked with 'correcting' time periods until the path to the Plagued Star is revealed.
Here's what that looks like in a flow chart form... and the red arrow is where we're at currently:

As you can see we are very far along, and reaching the content end phase. We've tested the hell out of the game, and cut as much boring filler as we could. So this was our result. We've stuck with our clear vision, but boy... we've had to do a lot of pruning. The game right now is about 50 hours long... and we feel like it shouldn't be too much more than that!
As Xiaxen, you'll move into Arkar and stay in his quarters. Each day in Arkar brings something new, until his journey is finally over.

After his lessons, Xiaxen will find out how to use his spirit to command mirrors - those of which hold the passage to time periods. Don't worry, it'll make sense in the game. :)

After all 6 time periods have been corrected by him, the path to the plagued star is revealed. Thus ending his adventure.

Now obviously I've left out a lot of details, and things don't go as smoothly as I've laid out... but this will be the general flow, and we are about 75% done with the content.
I'm known to spoil plot threads as I ramble on, so I'll leave it there. Hopefully this gives you a decent idea of how the game will proceed. And I promise, there's much more to be said. When I write stories, I tend to write an outline... and then add exciting scenarios getting between each point in that outline. I guess that's how most RPG writers do it.
That's it for now... until next time. Oh, and I'm not sure what to call our group of fans yet... Ancients? Influential Ones? We'll think of something. Back to work. :)
