Hey everyone,
As we start winding down on development on what has been long road to early access, I wanted to start getting into the habit of providing regular updates as we approach our planned August release.
MTS being only a very small team (three people) it is always a challenge to keep up the communication with the community while staying focused on development, but I want to give it a try. I had a lot of hope that I would have hit my internal July target, but it became clear last month that was just not going to happen, so we made the decision to move it to the end of August to allow us to get the first chapter of the campaign and allow for a little soak time to catch any nasty surprises.
At this point in the development cycle, I feel we have a good base to launch from and start getting the players involved to really make Dungeons of Edera an enjoyable experience. Feedback and critique is vital to ensure the final product is really what the players want and most of all fun. We have gotten good signal from the small player tests that we are on the right track so I am very excited to open this up to the next level for the entire Steam audience.
So - onto what the road to release and beyond looks like. At this point I am implementing the last leg of the first chapter of the campaign. The first chapter will take players through a guided tutorial and first two hub spaces where you will launch your missions and begin to build up your towns. In the next week or so the campaign should be finalized and at that point I will begin polishing and bug hunting to kick off the exciting part - inviting content creators and curators to have a go at it before I unleash it to the world.

Players can expect Dungeons of Edera early access to launch mid to late August - I will clarify the date on the next dev blog, I am hesitant to pick a date at this point in case I run into any unexpected problems. Depending on the initial feedback, I plan to stick to my roadmap on trello (https://trello.com/b/tarkmzyp/dungeons-of-edera-roadmap) as a basis, but will shuffle milestones around based on what players are calling out and excited to see.
That is it for this time, as I said, I will try to keep these posts coming on a weekly basis as we approach release and outline dates, new features and more details into the campaign.
Cheers,
Monster Tooth
