Every year, the The Academy of Adventure Gaming and Arts vote for the best, most innovative products in board gaming. The cream of the cream are nominated, and competition is fierce. This year marks the first time digital games could be considered, with the creation of a new award category called "Best Digital Adaptation of a Physical Game".
The nominees in this category are all super great games...
- Cutthroat Caverns from Cellbloc Studios
- Mystic Vale from Nomad Games
- Raiders of the North Sea from Dire Wolf Digital
- Through the Ages: New Leaders and Wonders from Czech Games Edition
- Tsuro VR from Thunderbox Entertainment
The winners are usually revealed at the Origins Game Fair in Ohio, in June... but this year the event was cancelled due to the global pandemic (hmmm, somebody should make a board game about that).
To be honest, our money was on Raiders of the North Sea... so we were utterly flabbergasted when we got an e-mail telling us that Tsuro had snagged the top slot. Amazing!
We'd like to thank all of the Tsuro players out there in VR who took a chance, and picked up our weird little game! We're glad you're having fun with it, and we look forward to taking you to strange new worlds in the not too distant future...
