Steam Next Fest has officially begun, and we are incredibly excited to finally put Wind Runners into the hands of players around the world.
This event marks an important milestone for our team: after years of development, the Resistance is ready to welcome its first pilots.
Jump into the Zerah Igna System, take control of an Ishma Wind Runner, and fight against the oppressive Realm and its god-like Saints. Master high-speed aerial combat, discover powerful technology synergies, and face the colossal Cardinal Beasts standing between the Resistance and the liberation of the system.
Every flight is a defiant strike. Every victory brings the Resistance one step closer to freedom.
A Journey Born Between Friends and Stars
Wind Runners was born from a friendship that began almost 20 years ago. Growing up as neighbors in Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, we spent our days playing games, watching movies and anime, and creating stories together through Dungeons & Dragons.
Those same passions later inspired us to create the space opera we had always dreamed of: a fast, stylish, and intense spaceship game influenced by worlds like Cowboy Bebop, Macross, Gundam, Trigun, Gurren Lagann, and Star Wars.
The bullet-hell genre became the perfect way to bring that vision to life in chaotic battles where ships dodge overwhelming fire, perform complex maneuvers, and fight against impossible odds.
Today, despite working remotely, we still meet every day to create games and share the same passion that started this journey.
The State of Development
Last week, we released the Wind Runners Demo, and we are incredibly happy with the reception so far. Seeing players discover the Zerah Igna System, share their feedback, and leave positive reviews has been an amazing milestone for our team.
Over the past months, we have focused heavily on improving the game's feel and overall "juice" making combat more impactful, movement more satisfying, and every battle more intense.
Our next major focus is the meta-progression system, expanding what happens between runs and strengthening the feeling of building the Resistance over time. We can't wait to share more of what is coming next.
