Below is the same information as the Early Access description text. Posting it here also for ease of reading.
Why Early Access?
“Our goal is to help create a more well rounded and polished end product with the help from user feedback. At the same time we hope to create a community of passionate users who enjoy taking part of the feedback and development process with a title! With the main groundwork of the title having been completed, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to incorporate the community with the development of the game. By listening to the feedback and ideas from the vast amount of players from various cultural backgrounds here on Steam, we hope to work together to create a well rounded product fans from all over the world can enjoy!”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“The game is planned to be in Early Access for 4 months at the absolute latest. Depending on the speed of development and polishing of the product based off of user feedback we are aiming towards a release at the end of October or November 2019.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The following list below are the features and additions that we will be working towards and adjusting based on player feedback during the development process!
- New game modes, Boss Rush
- New Playable character with new lore
- + 1-2 hours of gameplay
- Upgrades and powers
- A lot of new enemies
- 8 New Bosses
- New features based on community feedback
- New Quests
- Full Controller Support
- Achievements
- Trading Cards
- Cloud Save functionality planned
- Localization into other languages - Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, French, Spanish. Not all of these may make it into the game at launch.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Currently the game is in about a 70% complete state with area assets having been created and connected, gives the player a very good idea of how the general gameplay mechanics are. More complex work such as event triggers, NPC dialog adjustment and formatting and control functionality are being worked on. There are still sections of the game where the player might become stuck due to issues with map connectivity / being still currently worked on. And the final favorite of developers and players all over the world this early access version will contain bugs. So please bear with us as we work towards hammering out all of these issues during the Early Access period!
- 8 Bosses, Being 3 hidden
- Base part of the game and story content (+- 2-3 hours gameplay)
- 6 Game Areas (13 planned for the Full Release)
- 2 Item Upgrades
As a heads up to our Early Access users, while controller functionality is supported we still are in the phase of doing proper adjustments so we can have it marked correctly as "Full Controller Support". Be sure to have your controller plugged in and turned on before starting the game.
Achievements and Trading Cards will be added to the game during the development process and we will be sure to inform everyone once they are properly implemented and active.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“The price will increase after Early Access ends.
We plan on doing an official announcement at least 1 month in advance to notify people that Early Access will be ending and the price will increase for the Full Retail version.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“The main point of communication will be the Piko Piko Steam Community Hub, where we can interact with users who will be leaving ideas, feedback and bug reports for the title! While we are unable to promise that every request will be put into the game we will be doing our best to keep the community up to date on what the new changes are through simple change logs and help spotlight interesting threads or reports to further the conversation on particular topics.”
