Hey everyone,
Last week we took a look at the process of bringing buildings into the world, today we'll look at the next step in that process and focus in on complex building designs.
Following the same process as before, we start out gathering references for the more complex buildings.

The next step is constructing a blocked out shape that best fits the building with the blank assets (colour isn’t introduced yet).

Usually with complex buildings such as the monuments or art deco buildings, the bulk of the structure is built with ready made assets that would normally only require minor adjustments.

The face of the building on the other hand is unique as it’s the part which is the most recognisable. In order to differentiate it from the rest of the surrounding buildings we made unique patterns, window structures and placements that don't follow the normal ruleset.

Who knows how many buildings out there are waiting for 'special deliveries' from you?
