Hey everyone,
Continuing the theme of looking at the technical bits and pieces that make up the world of Definitely Not Fried Chicken, today we're looking at vehicles!
Vehicles will be an important element of the world map since they will populate a large portion of the world, moving and interacting with one another. It was really important to gather plenty of references in order to have enough variation in the designs.
The first step of making every vehicle was establishing how much room characters would need to sit within them. By creating the seating and dashboard first it allowed us to figure out roughly how big a car would be, and eventually became the starting point of most vehicles.

Afterward it was mostly a matter of designing some unique vehicles based on real cars while trying to keep them within the same style. This was quite a long process because we ended up needing around ten basic street car variations along with company trucks and misc vehicles.

The final step for these basic vehicles was making three colour variations of each. Company vehicles, law enforcement vehicles and misc vehicles didn’t require this final step since they were situation specific and had a unique in game function.
