The cycle continues and we have a new update for Echoes of Mystralia! Most notably, we answered one of the most requested features: transparency options for your spells! Many of you mentioned that your epic spellcrafting could make it difficult to see what was going on around you, so you can now tone it down a bit to make sure Maz doesn’t get lost in the sauce.

NOTE : With this update, it's possible the slider will start at 0%. Just hop in the option menu and fix it to the level you like the most.
The team has also improved the Guardian Seals (puzzles) interface for better readability. Nodes will now turn green when placed in the correct position.
On the more technical side, we have reworked the save file flow and added a backup copy to your saves. Some of you experienced save file issues due to a crash, this should add additional layers of redundancy. If you're still experiencing issues with your save file, please share them with us in our Discord server so we can help you out.
This update also introduces various balancing tweaks, improvements, and fixes. Check out the full Patch Notes below.
It’s been only 9 days since release and, thanks to your unwavering support, the game has now reached “Very Positive” reviews on Steam! Thank you again for taking a moment to share your love of the game. Of course there’s still a lot of work ahead of us, so stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.

Relics
Aster's Fangs: Dash has a 20% -> 40% chance to stun foes for 1.5 -> 2 seconds
Memory Prism: 5% -> 10% chance for Triggers to have +1 -> +3 Spawn Count
Burden Anklet: Now applies about 4-5 times more of each status effect than before
Full Heart Talisman: If your pocket is full, deal +100% -> +60% damage
Warrior's Mask: Dash deals 30 -> 120 damage. This damage is multiplied by bonuses to movement speed
Amek Statuette: Dash deals 30 -> 90 damage for each Status Effect on foes.
Cycle Bell: Gain 1 -> 2 Memory reroll
Awtorn's Embers, Reanimated Nail and Mage's Warhorn: Increase element damage by 25% -> 20%. They now match the other 4 similar Relics
Goane's Vial: Will now properly reduce incoming damage and spread damage. 40% -> 25% of damage received is spread out over a duration. Each kill reduces pending damage by 10 -> 3

This patch didn't make it in time for the previous update, but was deemed important enough for release as soon as it was ready. We have identified and fixed an issue that bloated the game's save files and consequently impacted memory usage and degraded overall performance over time.
After applying this patch, the game will correct the data when loading an affected save slot. This process might take some time depending on how degraded your file became, so please simply let it finish and load into the world. Once corrected, your subsequent loading speeds will return normal!

First of all, thank you so much for your kind comments on the game, we’re so glad to see so many of you enjoying your time in Mystralia.
These first few days have been incredibly exciting, and you’ve all been very vocal about what you love and what could be improved. That’s exactly what Early Access is all about: listening to your feedback, learning from it, and continuing to shape the game alongside you.
We’re reading every review, comment, Discord post, and Steam forum post, and we’ll be using your feedback to guide our work in the weeks ahead. There’s plenty more to come, and we’re excited to keep building the game with you.
In the last few days, the team was hard at work fixing the first issues that arose and implementing balancing fixes to facilitate onboarding. Balancing is always a delicate matter as too much change can easily generate new issues. That’s why we prefer to keep adjustments limited for now, giving us time to see how each change is received and how it impacts the overall experience before making further adjustments.

As we prepare for the upcoming release of Echoes of Mystralia, we have put together this Devlog to
give you a closer look at what’s in store for you at launch.
We’re also taking this moment to announce that Echoes of Mystralia will be releasing in Early Access. Our goal is to keep this Early Access period relatively short and community-focused, allowing us to finish and polish the game ahead of full release. While the core experience will be fully playable at launch, we believe the final stage of development is best shaped alongside the community.

Throughout Early Access, we’ll be rolling out several gameplay-focused updates such as adding additional content, refining existing systems based on community feedback, and completing the end-game content and narrative.

We are eager to work closely with our players during this final stretch, as your feedback has, and will continue to play a key role in helping us shape Echoes of Mystralia into the best experience it can be.

And while we’re looking ahead, keep an eye out for a major announcement you’ve all been waiting for, coming this Friday, July 17th.

Without further ado, let’s peek beyond the Rift.
New Features Available at Early Access Launch
Watchers’ Duties

A Watcher’s path is never without purpose. Toka will now offer challenges throughout your journey, testing your skills and determination in exchange for valuable Echoes that can be offered at the Altar.
Major Guardian Seal Encounters
Some places in Mystralia hold stronger Memories than others. Hidden throughout the world, powerful Guardian Seal encounters await those willing to seek them out and uncover the Echoes left behind.
The Memory Forge
Deep within Mystralia lies a hidden forge known only to the Watchers. The Memory Forge allows you to reshape and alter your Memories and Spell Canvas.
Spell Canvas Customization
Unlock a new upgrade at the Altar that lets you customize your spell canvas in the Azimuth before beginning your run.
Socket Upgrade
Highly requested by the community, the new Canvas Socket upgrade, a Guardian reward, allows players to increase the size of their canvas to craft even more powerful spells throughout their adventure.
Steam Achievements
And for all of the Completionists out there, 25 Steam Achievements with beautiful thumbnails will be waiting for you at launch!

The land of the Fulgors awaits Mazarim, who must brave the ascent to Meda's snowy peak. Explore two sub-biomes, the Eldervales and the Soulmines, and encounter new events and challenges including the Meda Guardian fight, and two Elite Shadow battles unique to the region.
The Kingdom of Mystralia
The Kingdom of Mystralia is where the heart of the Mage War unfolded, marking the final steps of Mazarim's journey. Explore two sub-biomes, the Highlands and the Capital, and encounter new events and challenges such as the Guardian Afale, and three Elite Shadow battles unique to the region.

We’re thrilled to announce that Echoes of Mystralia will be participating in the upcoming Steam Next Fest: June 2026 Edition!
As we gear up for the event, we’re sharing an in-depth look at what we’ve been working on behind the scenes and what’s coming next for the world of Mystralia.
Rifted Echoes & Adventure Upgrades
Guardian Seals

Guardian Seals will now appear along your path! Solve their puzzles to gain unique Rifted Echoes.
Altar Flow
We’ve reworked how Adventure Upgrades are unlocked at the Altar, making progression more closely tied to exploration and discovery.

Certain upgrades will now require you to find specific Rifted Echoes scattered throughout Mystralia and recall them back at the Altar. Doing so will restore parts of Mystralia affected by the Rift and allow you to uncover new memories in your next adventures!
Modifier Memories
Five new Modifier Memories can be found and unlocked, including two new trails, and three new ways to optimize your damage output during runs: Icy Path, Luminous Trail, Unfulfilled Desire, Pressure Buildup, and Empty Stomach.
Uncover Secrets
Mystralia is now filled with even more secrets waiting to be uncovered. Throughout your adventures you may come across new discoveries, hidden challenges, complex puzzles, and many rewards:

Soulbeads can be obtained by destroying crates left behind by the Mages Army, rewarding players through exploration and environmental discoveries.
Echomaton Shrines have been added throughout the world. These mysterious structures will open to players who can decipher and cast the correct spells, rewarding them with extra memories for their current run.
Watcher Encounter: Luciame
Luciame can now be encountered deep within the Ash Forest as part of a brand-new Watcher fight. As a former leader of the Olores Clan, she is known for her mastery of wind and fire. Stuck in a bad memory, will your spells be powerful enough to save her from the Rift’s grasp and return her to the safety of the Azimuth?
Resources & Relics Menus
The new Resources tab within the inventory lets you easily keep track of the resources you carry, as well as which Echoes you’ve discovered throughout your journey.
The new Relic tab within the inventory provides you with an overview of all the relics you have collected during your adventures, while also displaying the relics active during your current run!
Spell Icons
Our artists have been hard at work revisiting spell icons to improve their visual clarity and overall readability. Each icon has been redesigned to better reflect the nature and effects of their spells. Their overall look has also been revamped to feel more vivid, dynamic, and expressive, with richer detail compared to their previous design. Check out the before-and-after comparison in the image above!
Gameplay Improvements
Along with the new features, the team has been working on improving Echoes of Mystralia’s gameplay experience in many ways. With the upcoming update, you can expect:
Improved early gameplay flow
Improved overall performance
Increased player agency during early narrative moments
Ongoing improvements to visuals, sound effects, and music
Tighter combat arenas: less running around in empty zones
Maz looksmaxxing: increased hair flowiness
Improved intro cinematic (before-and-after below):
