We hope you're ready to take on the challenge offered by the Tower of Chaos, the newest game mode in Warhammer: Chaosbane. The premise is simple, the higher you climb, the better the reward, and tougher the challenge. If you fail, then you'll be walking away with nothing but a bruised ego. The tower is accessible after you've cleared the Act 2.

There's a lot of other things included in this patch, changes to Boss Rush and Relic Hunt, a new currency called Morrisleb coins, balance tweaks, and much more. So make sure you read on for the full patch notes.

Before you go, we wanted to thank you all for all the support we've received over the past year. Your feedback has helped shape the development of Warhammer: Chaosbane in. We're not done yet either, we've got something special planned, so put down your cloaks for now, and stay tuned. We'll be back with more information later this year.

HOTFIX:

Keela can now reclaim rewards in the Invasion mode.
Fixed some UI problems when not using the 16/9 aspect ratio.
Resolved some miscellaneous crash fixes.

Gameplay

New Mode Added – The Tower Of Chaos
- The Tower of Chaos is a new arena in which you can test your skills in various battle challenges, the higher you climb, the better quality loot you’ll receive. After you clear each floor, you can decide whether to take the rewards and end your journey here or push onward for better rewards.

Relic Hunt and Boss Rush Rework
- More options have been given to the player, to choose the maps and modifiers they’re interested in playing. You’ll receive better loot based on what modifiers you select and will be able to custom-tune the challenge.

Added the possibility to chain some skills during the use of other combat skills without interrupting animations
Cosmetic menu added, allowing you to replace the visuals of your gear with other gear you own
Inventory and the Stash can now be reorganized by the player using the mouse.
Left-click can now be reconfigured on the Mouse to make it exclusively for movement.

The firm grip of Chaos holds sway over the Old World, as the battle rages on, a new hero emerges, Keela, the dwarf engineer joins the roster of heroes with this update. She's a feisty brawler who excels in close to mid-range combat, using her hammer and pistol to decimate through the Chaos hordes. As a talented mechanic, she uses her contraptions to turn the tides, and her archetype ability will have you managing a heat gauge to make sure she's delivering out maximum punishment. Some might say, it's hammer time!

Speaking of hammers, the Forges are open! Heinrich Falke, the Gunnery Master of the Imperial Gunnery school requests the aid of any able-bodied adventurers. The headmaster and senior members of the School have been trapped inside; rumors have it that new monsters are roaming these hallowed halls.

The Tomb Kings DLC is out now available! We’ve wrote a detailed post about this one, but the TL:DR is that Magnus Edition and Season Pass owners can already access the content, or it can be purchased separately.

Quality of Life

Option to display a large map has been added
New Icons have been added to the mini map (teleportation stones, chests, red + green loot, etc.)
Game automatically pauses when a controller is disconnected
Enemy name has been added above the life-bar of semi bosses
Cursor size can be changed in the Graphical Options menu
The mouse cursor changes when interactions are possible
The archetype video is only played the first time a character is used
New tutorial added for using presets
Walk + Run speed has been adjusted for quest NPCs
Gateway selection zone has been increased
Icon has been changed for “Talisman of the Predator”
It’s now possible to switch between builds while surrounded by enemies, or just after receiving damage

Balance

Characters no longer flash white when under the effect of a DoT spell
Invoking enemies are now invulnerable during their invocation animation
Nuln’s Relic Hunting now requires more enemies to be killed for completion
Bosses now give more God Fragments
Relic Hunting chests now give more loot and more God Fragments
The last level of the Collector’s Guild (Loopable) gives less Link Fragments (20, down from 100)
Enemies can now resist attraction/repulsion effects when the actions are chained
Heroic Jewels trigger effects have been adjusted for critical hits, only direct skills are taken into account (passives, status, counter-attack etc. no longer trigger this effect)
Keeper of Secrets: Damage decreased and life pillars decreased
High difficulty bosses now deal increased damage
Tzeentch relic hunting modifiers have been adjusted, tornadoes damage and knockback distance has been reduced

Vollen Balance

Benediction of Sigmar: Duration increased to 18s for each rank (from 16), energy regen reduced to 2 (from 3) for rank 2, and the damage bonus has been increased to 40% for rank 3 (from 30%)
Bastion of Sigmar: Stun probability increased to 100% for all ranks
Herald of Sigmar: Armor reduction for enemies has been increased to 30% (from 25), duration increased to 10s (from 5) for all ranks
Blade of Vengeance: Damaged halved, but number of charges doubled
“Magnus’ Gift” Hammer: Dot increased, enemies affected have a reduced healing potency. Damage increase depending on effected enemies has been removed.

Elontir Balance

Arcane Manifestation: Cooldown reduced to 45 seconds (from 55), damage reduced, explosion range reduced
Walk Between Worlds: Teleport range increase to 10m (from 8m)
Living Magic (Passive): Damage reduced
Spiritual Prison: Cooldown decreased to 35s (from 40)

Elessa Balance

Summon health pools increased
Wild Incarnation: Summon damage increased, cooldown reduced
“Eternity Armor” set: Bonus increased to 400% (from 200%), however the effect now triggers on enemies with high life values (previously poisoned enemies)
“Symbiosis” Bow: Damage bonus decreased to 150% (from 200%). Traps now have a bleed effect when this bow is equipped

Bragi Balance

Laceration: Attack speed and health cost increased, range decreased
Scythe: Attack speed and range increased

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where the Nurglings could be made invulnerable during the Great Unclean One boss fight
Fixed an issue where some raids would fail in multiplayer
Fixed the tooltip for “Scourge of Pestilence – Mastered”
Fixed a bug that could result in the character appearing in the wrong place after a Boss Rush
Fixed some issues with Russian localization
Fixed some issues with Polish localization

The Tomb Kings DLC is now live! Owners of the Magnus Edition, or Season Pass will have instant access to the content. Start your journey into the shifting sands of Nehekhara!

Story

Since Magnus’ return to Nuln, a companion of High Loremaster Teclis, Finreir, has been laying the foundations for what will be known as the Colleges of Magic in Altdorf. You’ve been invited by the fledgling Amethyst Order to explore the desert plains of Nehekhara. Your mission, to protect the expedition from any possible threats and procure any relics hidden in the crypts nestled under the shifting sands.

Season Pass and Magnus Edition owners will have instant access to the Tomb Kings content after it goes live next week. If you don’t have the Tomb Kings content, then it can be purchased separately or picked up as part of the Season Pass, which includes an additional God Skill tree for each character, new companion pets and other cosmetic boosts for your characters.

How can I access the Tomb Kings DLC?

The Tomb Kings DLC can be played on any character. When selecting a character, you'll be given the choice between the main adventure or the Tomb Kings DLC.

You can switch between campaigns using the Waystones scattered across the Old World (if there is a save where Teclis has opened the Waystones at the end of Act 1).

Does the Tomb Kings DLC affect end game?

Those with the Tomb Kings content will find this content incorporated into the Warhammer: Chaosbane end game options. You’ll find the maps, enemies, and bosses of Nehekhara in the Boss Rush, Relic Hunt, and Expedition modes.

What if I have the Tomb Kings DLC and want to play with a friend who doesn’t have the DLC?

Players who own the Tomb Kings DLC will be able to invite and play with their friends who don’t own the content. However, only players with the DLC will receive the Tomb King specific rewards from the campaign, and have their story progress saved.
Regardless of whether you own the Tomb Kings DLC or not, all players will receive XP, fragments, and gold for completing missions and defeating enemies. Additionally, players who don’t have the Tomb Kings DLC can also experience the Tomb King content in the Boss Rush, Relic Hunt game modes when playing with friends who own the DLC.
